About the job

Do you want to help develop people and strengthen Air Defence Wings future staffing?

Do you have a good eye for people, work independently, and are you motivated by advising both leaders and employees about careers, development and staffing?

Then you may be our new HR Partner and Career Coach at Air Defence Wing.

The position is for you who thrive with a great deal of freedom under responsibility, take initiative and are motivated to create results through relationships, dialogue and credible advice.

About us

You will be organizationally employed by the Personnel Command, but you will perform your daily duties at Air Defence Wing with a fixed place of service at Flyvestation Skalstrup.

Air Defence Wing is a growing authority responsible for Denmark's land-based air defense. We are still being built up, which means that new tasks, processes and collaborations are continuously developed. If you are motivated to help shape solutions rather than just follow fixed processes, you will thrive with us.

You will become part of a local HR team with two HR Partners, where you together support the management and employees in both Skalstrup and Tirstrup. You must therefore be comfortable with a daily life where you have your fixed base at Flyvestation Skalstrup, but where the task frequently takes you to Tirstrup and other locations in Jutland. At times this can involve business trips several days a week depending on activities and staffing meetings.

About the position

The position is a combined role as HR Partner and Career Coach .

The largest part of the role is linked to the function as Career Coach, where the Defence staffing system is used as a central tool for career guidance, competence development and staffing planning.

At the same time you are HR Partner for Air Defence Wing. The HR part of the role differs from a classic HR function. The emphasis is not on administration, but on being a close advisor and sparring partner for the authority's managers on matters of people, organization and development.

You will have a wide range of contacts across the authority and become a visible collaborative partner for both leaders and employees. A large part of the success in the role depends on you taking initiative yourself, building relationships and driving your tasks forward.

As a Career Coach your primary tasks will be to

  • conduct individual career guidance
  • support managers in connection with career conversations
  • map Air Defence Wings positions and create an overview of career paths and development opportunities
  • plan, facilitate and follow up on staffing meetings
  • plan and conduct information and inspiration activities about career possibilities in the Defence
  • advise managers and employees on development and career opportunities based on the Defence staffing system
  • contribute to the continued development and use of the staffing system at Air Defence Wing.

As a HR Partner your tasks will include, among others, to

  • act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner for the authority's managers
  • advise on personnel- and organizational-related issues
  • prepare case dossiers and decision basis
  • plan and conduct exit interviews
  • contribute to Air Defence Wing's work with talent management and employee development
  • work closely with the Personnel Command and the other HR Partners in the Air Force
  • support other HR tasks where the role is primarily advisory and coordinating.

Who will succeed in the role?

There can be many paths to the job.

The crucial thing is not whether you come from a classic HR function. We place greater emphasis on you understanding the Defence organization and culture, being able to build trustworthy relationships and being motivated to advise and develop people. Military experience or previous experience from the Defence would be an advantage, but is not a requirement.

The role requires a high degree of independence.

You do not get a daily life where tasks are allocated to you. You are expected to plan your own time, identify needs, build relationships and ensure progress in your tasks. We help and spar with each other, but also expect you to take responsibility for your own area.

We therefore imagine that you

  • work independently and thrive with great freedom under responsibility, while also functioning well as part of a closely collaborating team
  • are proactive and naturally build strong relationships
  • take initiative and see your tasks through to the end
  • work thoroughly and focus on quality rather than quick fixes
  • can create structure and maintain overview – even when the framework evolves – and have a flair for data, analysis and tools like Excel
  • communicate securely and professionally with both managers and employees and are an engaging communicator who thrives in both one-on-one dialogue and in front of a larger audience
  • are motivated to make a real difference for both people and the organization.

Your first months

We ensure a thorough onboarding process where you get to know Air Defence Wing, your partners and the Defence’s staffing system.

After about six months we expect that you

  • can independently facilitate staffing meetings
  • can plan and conduct information- and inspiration activities
  • have built a strong network across Air Defence Wing
  • are well underway with mapping the authority’s positions and career paths.

We offer

With us you get a position with great freedom, substantial influence on your own workday and the opportunity to shape how you solve your tasks.

You will become part of an authority characterized by pioneering spirit, collaboration and a shared goal of building and developing Air Defence Wing. We offer flexibility in scheduling work, including the possibility of home office when tasks allow it.

If you are motivated by responsibility, independence and the opportunity to make a real difference for both employees and the organization, we believe you will thrive with us.

Employment terms

If you are an academic, you are employed in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

If you have a clerical education or another relevant education, you are employed under the applicable Common Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The State Sector (OAO-S Common Agreement) and the organizational agreement for office workers, laboratory technicians and IT employees.

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is an opportunity for negotiation of a supplement. There is an employer-financed pension scheme attached to the position.

The workplace is at Flyvestation Skalstrup near Roskilde.

As an employee within the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special terms. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain your security clearance throughout the employment.

You, as an employee, are also obliged to render service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.

Contact and application

If you want to hear more about the position, you are welcome to contact KN Katrine Gammelgaard Stoltze on telephone 3266 5253 or HR Partner Vincent Petersen on telephone 72832107.

If you have questions about salary and employment terms, you are welcome to contact the Personnel Command, HR Consultant Mia Nordbeck Carlsson on telephone 3266 5716.
