About the job

HR Partner with strong professional foundation – Aarhus University

Do you have solid experience in HR, and do you want to apply your knowledge in a department that delivers strategic and reliable HR services to the Faculty of Arts? Are you ambitious, collaborative and ready to make a difference – if so, you are the person we are looking for as the new colleague in Arts HR.

As an HR partner you contribute to the Faculty of Arts attracting, developing and retaining skilled employees, and you work closely with the faculty's leaders to be able to provide administrative support where quality, professionalism and collaboration are in focus.

About the position

We are seeking an HR partner who combines solid professional competencies with strong personal attributes – a colleague who can build trust, credibility and good relationships, both to the organization and to colleagues in Arts HR

As our new HR partner you will be a sparring partner for managers at the faculty's institutes and in the faculty's administration centre. You will have a role where you work with strategic HR tasks, daily operational tasks, and provide proactive advice to our organization. As part of the HR partner team in the department you also help ensure and coordinate that we deliver high quality and coherence in task execution.

Coordination and collaboration between the partner team and the support team is very important, so it is essential to be able to look across a task and ensure shared attention to all elements of a process.

As part of the HR partner team you will cover several special areas where you are the specialist. You advise colleagues and managers on the topics and you are the facilitator when processes need to be planned or cross-cutting initiatives coordinated. This may include, for example, annual salary negotiations, the MUS process, the APV (working environment assessment), the cooperation committee, personality testing, etc.

Your tasks

There is talk of a versatile job, which gives you the opportunity to work with a variety of HR tasks:

  • recruitment of scientific and administrative staff
  • advice and handling of personnel matters and management sparring
  • preparation of management information
  • participation in interdisciplinary projects and networks across the university, where you collaborate with HR staff from other units at the university
  • coordination of tasks between colleagues and teams in the department.

Professional and personal competencies

We are seeking an HR partner with a relevant Master's degree and several years of experience in HR – ideally with advising leaders at multiple levels.

We place emphasis on the following

  • are ambitious, thorough and take responsibility for the whole of your task fulfillment
  • can quickly understand new rules and complex contexts – and convey them clearly into practice
  • work business-oriented and ensure that your advice creates value for the units you support
  • have strong relational and communication skills, and can prioritise and structure with a high level of service
  • have thorough knowledge of labor law
  • have experience from politically led organisations or knowledge of public administration
  • have good understanding of digitization of processes and strong skills in digital tools – especially Excel would be an advantage
  • can operate in English, although the working language is primarily Danish.
  • possibly certified in one or more types of personality tests

What can we offer?

As an HR partner you will have the opportunity to shape your tasks based on your strengths, your professional curiosity and the needs that arise in the organization.

You will become part of a community where collegial support and collaboration are a natural part of everyday life. We help each other across tasks and challenges, and we focus on both high quality and well-being.

You will have a workplace where you can develop professionally and personally – and where together we create the framework for a good working life.

About the department

Arts HR consists of 10 employees – a partner team and an HR support team. 8 employees are based in Aarhus and 2 are based at Campus Emdrup in Copenhagen, where the Faculty of Arts also has staff. The employees serve the Dean's Office, the faculty's 3 institutes and the administration centre.
