About the job

Sports Project – an interdisciplinary and co-leading organization

Idrætsprojektet is located in the Center for Children and Young People and is part of the Social Administration (SOF) in the City of Copenhagen. It is an interdisciplinary and co-leading organization, where we are about 120 full-time staff. We are mainly pedagogues, teachers, social workers, candidates in pedagogy, psychology and sports, as well as craftsmen. We lead through trust, and decisions are made by those who are closest to the task to be solved – you must therefore thrive with a higher degree of responsibility and independence.

The organization consists of 11 co-leading trainer teams, which collaborate with children and young people to ensure they are bridged into and retained in positive communities at school, in leisure life and in part-time jobs. What unites everyone at Idrætsprojektet is our passion for making a difference for children and young people in vulnerable positions. Everyone works from Idrætsprojektet’s value-based method, which is the common professional foundation on which all Idrætsprojektet’s initiatives build.

Idrætsprojektet’s target group and initiatives

Idrætsprojektet collaborates with children and young people aged 3-18 years (youth support 23 years), who are in vulnerable positions, children and young people who are on the way out of positive communities in the family, school and leisure, or who are already outside positive communities and who can be outwardly aggressive, inwardly aggressive, crime-threatened and/or experience psychological difficulties.

We offer interventions to individual children and young people, where the goal is to bridge to and retain them in positive communities, and to groups of children and young people, where the goal is to build and maintain diverse, inclusive and fun communities in schools, institutions and local areas.

We work to ensure that all city children and young people are part of positive communities with strong and lasting relationships, and that they experience that they are competent and meaningful to others in the communities they participate in. We also work to ensure they have good self-esteem and experience that they have the strength to act themselves and create positive changes in their own lives, so that they eventually obtain education, a job and a good and independent life.

We are flexible with place and time. We perform no-portfolio social-pedagogical interventions and work where children, young people and their families live, go to school, etc., because that is where they need to live and use their competencies when they no longer need to collaborate with us. We start immediately, we never cancel, and we work from early morning to late evening, i.e., we are available from 6:00-22:00 on all weekdays.

About the position – your responsibilities and your opportunities

We are looking for two psychology-professional staff who want to make a concrete and lasting difference for children and young people in vulnerable positions – with particular focus on the qualification of the SkoleflexPLUS initiative in Copenhagen’s public schools.

The primary task will be to ensure a clear and meaningful link between the children’s or young people’s challenges, and to plan the treatment work in the concrete initiatives we offer in Idrætsprojektet. You must both be a professional sparring partner for our trainers and at the same time ensure cross-disciplinary collaboration between school, administration and Idrætsprojektet.

Your working hours will primarily (80%) be spent on the following tasks

  • Prepare and follow up on BUF-SOF intervention plans: You ensure that each plan reflects the child’s overall needs and development goals – in close collaboration with school, authorities and our trainers – and ensure coherence with Idrætsprojektet’s internal practice and documentation
  • Link pedagogical and psychology perspectives: You qualify the children’s and young people’s focus goals and contribute to evaluation and adjustment of the interventions
  • Actively participate in the cross-disciplinary collaboration: You contribute to the collaboration with PPR (Pedagogical-Psychological Services), schools and other actors, so that together we create the best possible holistic effort around the child
  • Support trainers in their pedagogical work: Via professional sparring and support of documentation tasks.

In addition, we expect that a smaller portion of working time (20%) is used for

  • Develop methods: You contribute to developing and describing Idrætsprojektet’s methods and ensure dissemination of psychological knowledge to both internal and external partners
  • Support and develop the professional level in the organization: You offer supervision, professional sparring and method development, so we continuously improve the quality of our work
  • Internal meetings and development work: You meet with your psychology partner for sparring and development of the initiative, including professional contributions such as workshops and podcasts for the entire Idrætsprojektet

We are looking for a colleague who not only sees the child in isolation but also in the community and everyday life in which the child must function. You must be able to think systemically, be action-oriented and want to translate theory into practice – together with engaged colleagues who every day make a difference in the lives of children and young people.

We are looking for a new colleague who

  • Has a psychology-related education such as can.psych. or can.pæd.psyk. possibly with PPR specialization and a minimum of two years’ experience working with children and young people
  • Believes that children and young people do well when they can
  • Believes that when children and young people are having difficulty, solutions are often found in the environment around the child
  • Has experience with pedagogical-psychological practice
  • Has a view of children that matches ours
  • Has knowledge of our fundamental methods: Low Arousal, LØFT, activity pedagogy and trauma-informed pedagogy
  • Has experience in working cross-disciplinary and believes that the best solutions are developed cross-disciplinary and in collaboration with colleagues, citizens and the many external partners
  • Is a good communicator, both in writing and speech, who can help document, spar, and convey complex psychological professional and practice-oriented knowledge about young people’s individual support needs and treatment strategies to colleagues

We offer

  • An organization that believes that children best find their way back to development and well-being in community with others
  • An organization characterized by solidarity and professionalism
  • A large team of highly engaged and competent trainers who work in co-leading teams
  • An employee group where engagement, professionalism and a good humorous tone are central
  • Opportunity to make a clear difference for all children, young people and their families in Idrætsprojektet
  • Opportunity to collaborate with many different partners and continuously help qualify Idrætsprojektet’s initiatives and develop new ones
  • A psychology-professional network and the possibility of supervision across the Center for Children and Young People

Salary and employment terms

The position is a permanent full-time role at 37 hours per week, and we expect you can start on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation. Criminal record and child protection checks will be obtained and extended references will be sought in connection with the recruitment process.

Your primary workplace will be at Nørrebrohallen, but you should expect several trips on Copenhagen’s bicycle paths, as we are a city-wide offering.
