About the job

Would you like to make a concrete difference for adults and children with complex communication needs – and be part of a strong professional environment where communication, technology and people go hand in hand?

The Center for Communication and Technology in Horsens Municipality is seeking a new ICT Consultant / AAC Advisor for our ICT team. The position is 37 hours per week. You will become part of a highly specialized team of six employees who work with children and adults with significant communication difficulties. This can include challenges with speech, reading, writing, memory and overview, where there is a need for communication aids under the Danish Social Services Act §§ 112 and 113.

You follow the citizens through the entire process – from assessment and testing of aids to implementation, follow-up and support – with a focus on finding solutions that strengthen the individual's ability to communicate and participate in a meaningful everyday life.

A part of the work as ICT Consultant and AAC Advisor consists of tasks in the children’s area, where the focus is on AAC, language development and the initiation of both analog and digital aids.

A daily life with professionalism, variation and close collaboration

As ICT Consultant and AAC Advisor you will have a varied daily routine, working closely with citizens, relatives and professionals.

You will, among other things, work with

  • assessment and testing of communication solutions
  • Guidance/advice on AAC and communication strategies
  • testing, adaptation and implementation of communication aids
  • guidance for the citizen’s network and professionals around the citizen
  • follow-up on whether the solution works in the citizen’s everyday life
  • training and dissemination within AAC and communication
  • cross-disciplinary collaboration across fields and sectors.
