About the job

Do you have an interest in GDPR and information security, and do you enjoy helping others understand rules and requirements?

Then we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are seeking an information security consultant for a maternity leave cover. You will help ensure that GDPR and information security are not just rules on paper, but something we can use and work with in everyday life.

About the job

As an information security consultant, you will have a broad task portfolio and come into contact with many different professional areas and employees. You will become part of the municipality’s central information security effort and contribute to the work with a risk-based approach grounded in ISO27001 and GDPR as well as the continued implementation of NIS2.

You will primarily take on tasks related to the Children, School and Family Administration, which is a large and diverse administration with many different professional areas and employee groups. Therefore, the role requires that you thrive moving across the organization and are able to translate complex information security requirements into practical solutions and messages that make sense for teachers, pedagogues, health visitors, dental care, the family area and administrative staff.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • Handle data breaches, including assess the case, follow up and report to the Danish Data Protection Agency when necessary.
  • Advise, educate and support managers, as well as employees, in GDPR and information security.
  • Prepare and follow up on data processing agreements with our suppliers.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and impact analyses (DPIAs).
  • Translate and communicate rules/guidelines into practical workflows, including staying informed about new regulations in the field.
  • Participate in inspections and controls.
  • Collaborate and spar with colleagues across Kolding Municipality on information security.

It is important to us that information security becomes understandable. Therefore, you must be able to explain a complex requirement in a way that makes the recipient think: "Oh, that actually makes sense – we can work with that."

Who are you?

We imagine that you have a relevant education or experience that provides you with a solid foundation in GDPR and information security.

You don’t need to know everything from day one. However, we expect you to be curious and willing to ask questions, investigate and find solutions.

It is advantageous if you have knowledge of some of the following areas

  • GDPR and data protection rules
  • Handling data breaches
  • Data processing agreements
  • Risk assessments and DPIAs
  • ISO 27001/27002
  • AI regulation and NIS2

As a person you are

  • Curious and interested in understanding how things fit together.
  • Good at collaborating with people with different professional backgrounds.
  • Good at explaining rules and requirements in a simple and understandable way.
  • Good at both listening, advising and saying no when necessary.
  • Independent and good at creating progress in your tasks.
  • Friendly and eager to help others.
  • A good colleague who contributes to a positive working environment.

About us

You will become part of the information security team in IT and Digitalization. We are 6 employees in the team who work with information security and data protection across the entire organization. We work with development, advisory services and operations tasks within information security, GDPR and compliance. At the same time, we focus on how new technologies including AI affect our work with data security, governance and risk management.

We support the municipality’s Digitalization and Information Security Forum (DIF), which has decision-making authority in the area and contributes to ensuring progress, overview and follow-up in the work with information security. We collaborate closely with the information security consultants in Kolding Municipality’s administrations and have broad contact with both management, system owners and professional areas.

You will be part of a department where there is room for sparring, ideas and humor – and where we help each other when tasks become complex.
