About the job
Information security consultant for society-critical solutions in the state
Would you like to help protect some of the state’s most important digital solutions? Do you want to develop professionally, take responsibility and collaborate with many different people to solve complex tasks? Then you may be our new colleague in the Ministry of Finance (Økonomistyrelsen).
At the Ministry of Finance we work for an efficient public sector that creates value for citizens and businesses. We operate and develop a number of cross-government solutions that daily support central societal functions across the state.
Therefore we consider information security a fundamental condition. Security is not something we tack on to our solutions. It is something we build them on.
We are looking for an information security consultant for our cross-cutting security team in the Office for New Solutions and Security. You don’t need to be a finished security expert. The most important is that you are curious, take initiative and want to learn. In return you will get responsibility, exciting tasks and the opportunity to develop yourself in a professional area of growing importance for the entire state.
About the position
As an information security consultant you will be part of the work to ensure robust, reliable and secure digital solutions with significance for ministries and agencies across the state.
You will among other things
- contribute to the implementation and follow-up of NIS2 requirements
- conduct risk assessments of systems, projects and suppliers
- spar with system owners about technical minimum requirements, security requirements and controls
- coordinate security tasks with the State IT, suppliers and other authorities
- prepare analyses, decision papers and management reporting
- contribute to the development of processes, governance models and security initiatives
- drive independent projects and tasks within information security
A typical week may, for example, consist of dialogue with a project team about security requirements for a new solution, a risk assessment of a system, coordination with State IT on security controls and preparation of a leadership paper about NIS2 or other current security areas.
From the start you will be responsible for your own tasks. We do not expect you to know everything from day one. Instead we expect you to be curious, take ownership and have the courage to learn new things.
About you
You may be a recent graduate or have a few years of relevant experience. Your educational background is less important than your ability to learn, collaborate and deliver results.
We imagine that you
- have a relevant higher education
- are interested in information security, digitalisation or governance
- can build good collaborative relationships across disciplines and organisations
- work independently and take responsibility for your tasks
- are curious and motivated to develop professionally
- can translate complex issues into clear recommendations
- thrive in a busy day with many different tasks and stakeholders
It is beneficial if you have experience with information security, compliance, risk management or project work, but it is not a requirement.
You do not need to be an expert in information security. We hire you for your potential, your judgement and your willingness to learn, not for the number of certifications on your CV.
About us
You will become part of the Office for New Solutions and Security in the Ministry of Finance. We work with information security, digital transformation and new technologies across the state. Our task is both to ensure stable and secure solutions today and to contribute to the development of tomorrow’s digital public sector.
We work closely with ministries, agencies, State IT and suppliers. Our tasks range from classic information security and risk management to implementing new regulations, security in new digital solutions and development of cross-government initiatives.
With us you have the opportunity to work in the intersection of technology, business, collaboration and social responsibility. We place emphasis on integrity, professionalism and collaboration. We believe that the best results are achieved together, and we give our employees freedom with responsibility and good opportunities to develop.
With us presence together with colleagues is important, and we believe collaboration and knowledge sharing across the agency is essential for a good working environment. At the same time we want to ensure flexibility for our employees, and home office can be agreed between supervisor and employee on an ongoing basis when compatible with task execution.
Employment terms
You will be employed according to the state’s collective agreement for academics and will be categorized as a trainee or consultant based on your qualifications.
It is a condition of employment that you can obtain a security clearance and subsequently maintain the clearance throughout your employment. In connection with the employment you will be asked to submit a private criminal record, which you obtain via www.politi.dk, or by appearing in person at your local police station. We will tell you more about this during the recruitment process.
The area of employment is the Ministry of Finance with its associated institutions, currently the Ministry of Finance’s department, the State Administration, State IT, the Ministry of Finance and the Employee and Competence Administration.
