About the job

At the Study Board for Psychology, on the bachelor programme there are a number of instructor positions available for filling as of 1 January 2027.

There are approximately 20 fixed-term appointments (one semester) and approximately 5 permanent appointments (the employment ends when the degree is completed). The final number of created positions will depend on which subjects are established. You should in your application indicate which type of appointment you prefer. If a permanent position is preferred, please also indicate whether you are interested in a fixed-term appointment if we cannot offer you a permanent appointment.

The positions are available in the following subjects/groups

Personality Psychology, practicum group

The course comprises 2 hours of teaching over 7 weeks (even weeks) in one semester. In the practicum group, the instructors shall lead the execution of predefined empirical studies and instruct and approve practicum reports. It will be regarded as an advantage, but not an absolute requirement, if the bachelor's degree has been completed, and if Personality Psychology has been passed at the Department of Psychology.

Further information can be obtained by contacting the subject coordinator Simo Køppe, [email protected] or the subject coordinator Tone Roald, [email protected]

Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology, practicum group

The course comprises 2 hours of teaching in 7 weeks (odd weeks) in one semester. The instructors’ task is to facilitate work on the practicum groups, where instructors lead the execution of predefined exercises as well as coordination of group-based student presentations within topics introduced in the syllabus and through the lecture sequence. It will be regarded as an advantage, but not an absolute requirement, if the bachelor's degree has been completed, and if the subjects “Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology” and “Cognitive Psychology” have been passed at the Department of Psychology.

Further information can be obtained by contacting the subject coordinator Ro Julia Robotham, [email protected]

Developmental Psychology, practicum group / Developmental Psychology Practical Instructors:

Practical instructors undertake 3 hours of weekly teaching for 6 weeks within the spring semester (specific weeks to be confirmed). Each instructor will be assigned to teams and will lead classes on practical methods within developmental psychology, including experimental methods, observational methods and interviews.

A close alignment with the lectures and seminar classes is expected and so it is expected that practical instructors will coordinate with other teachers within the developmental psychology teaching group and familiarize themselves with the lecture content that relates to a particular practical class. In addition to teaching the practical classes, the instructors must participate in coordination meetings with the other instructors and with the rest of the teaching group.

It is a condition of employment that the BA program has been successfully completed. Instructors willing to take 2 teams per week will be prioritized.

Further information can be obtained by contacting the subject coordinator Victoria Helen Southgate, [email protected]

Clinical Psychology II, practicum group

The course comprises 2 hours of teaching over 7 weeks distributed across the semester. The instructors’ task is to facilitate work on the practicum groups, where instructors lead the execution of predefined exercises based on the syllabus, lectures and cases provided by the lecturers, as well as coordination of group-based student presentations within topics introduced in the syllabus and through the lecture sequence. The work also includes correcting two short response papers.

It will be regarded as an advantage, but not an absolute requirement, if the bachelor's degree has been completed, and if Clinical Psychology is passed at the Department of Psychology.

Further information can be obtained by contacting the subject coordinator Sonja Breinholst, [email protected]

Educational Psychology, practicum group

The course comprises 2 hours of teaching 10 times over a semester. The instructors’ task is, in collaboration with the subject’s coordinator and the lecturers, to lead the group teaching which primarily comprises cases/exercises of both quantitative and qualitative nature. In the practicum groups, the various theoretical approaches and methods are treated through different applied activities.

Emphasis will be placed on educational psychology as an applied subject, where the focus will be that the lecture series gives the students broad theoretical insight, while the practicum focuses on ensuring that students gain a fundamental understanding of how to apply method and theory in practice. The starting point will be group-based work with cases through which students are introduced to different intervention and practice forms.

The activity requirement consists of one written assignment, corrected by the instructors, and one oral assignment that is presented to the teaching, where feedback is given by the instructor and the group.

Further information can be obtained by contacting the subject coordinator Guido Makransky, [email protected]

Salary and Terms of Employment

The salary as an instructor is agreed between the Ministry of Finance and SUL. The hourly wage is 257.72 DKK (April 2026 level), excluding holiday pay and pension . In addition to teaching hours, compensation is paid separately for approval of reports, response papers, etc., and for supervision equivalent to 1 hour per week with the subject coordinator. In addition, participation in pedagogical teaching courses of various kinds is paid.

The positions can be applied for by students at the Department of Psychology or the equivalent, who have completed two relevant years of work and who are enrolled in a degree during the teaching period. See also the requirements under the individual group descriptions in this posting. For all positions, teaching experience is an advantage, but not a condition. Other experience relevant to the field, such as experience with research or research methods, may be weighted.
