Apply for the position

At Media Studies we have a tradition of working with framed study activities, where we support and develop the students' learning. In connection with the Digital Methods course we seek competent student instructors who can contribute to supporting the students in learning to use the course's digital analysis tools.

The instructors' work with the students will primarily take place as group teaching for each of the program's three cohorts. In addition there will be coordination meetings and time to familiarize themselves with analysis tools they do not know yet. The course is taught by Niels Brügger and Christoph Raetzsch.

We are seeking student instructors who

  • have a solid academic background in Media Studies,
  • have an interest in and flair for digital methods as well as in communicating knowledge about them,
  • are outgoing and good at oral communication,
  • can structure a productive learning environment for beginners.

Teaching in Digital Methods will include, among other things, programs for text analysis, Orange Data Analysis Tools, and network analysis (Gephi). Familiarity with some of these will be a requirement. The instructors who are hired will receive a short introduction to the programs they do not yet know, and they will also need to spend time improving their skills in them as part of the paid employment.

If this is for you, please send us an application describing your particular areas of interest and competencies within Digital Methods as well as your motivation for applying. Attach a copy of your exam transcripts.

Application deadline: Friday 23 October 2026 at 12:00 .

If you have questions, please email lecturer Niels Brügger, e-mail.
