Job Description
Intern to Rambøll Management Consulting, Sustainability Consulting and ESG
Copenhagen, Denmark
Do you want to help companies tackle complex sustainability challenges while developing your skills as a management consultant? Come and join the team and help develop one of the consulting firms at the intersection of sustainability, strategy and business transformation.
At Rambøll Management Consulting, we work with private and public organizations across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, financial services, manufacturing, buildings and cities. Our projects span sustainability strategies and transformation, climate and decarbonization, responsible business conduct, regulation and reporting as well as sustainable financing.
As an intern you will contribute with your ambition, eagerness to learn, curiosity, analytical abilities and business understanding in real client engagements. By working together with experienced consultants and sustainability specialists you will learn how to structure complex problems, develop actionable recommendations and translate sustainability challenges into business decisions.
Become part of the team and develop your skills in management consulting while contributing to the transition toward more sustainable companies and societies.
Your new role
As our new sustainability intern you will be challenged with a busy workday in a cross-disciplinary environment where you will learn about all parts of a project, from procurement to project delivery.
Your tasks will vary and depend on the project scope and your personal development goals. You can expect a steep learning curve, exposure to complex business challenges and close collaboration with experienced consultants and sustainability specialists.
Typical project responsibilities for an intern include
- Carrying out sustainability analyses.
- Developing recommendations for implementing sustainability solutions.
- Conducting market, industry and regulatory research.
- Analyzing quantitative and qualitative sustainability data.
- Carrying out benchmarking exercises.
- Developing presentations and client deliverables.
- Preparing for and participating in client meetings and workshops.
- Supporting the development of sales materials.
Your new department
From day one you will be part of our Sustainability Consulting and ESG department, a dynamic and international team united by a strong interest in solving complex sustainability challenges for our clients.
Although our backgrounds are different, we share a passion for our work, projects and clients, and we enjoy spending time together outside the workplace at social events.
About you
For us, it isn’t only about what you have studied, and we welcome students from different academic backgrounds, including business administration, economics, engineering, political science, sustainability or similar programs. You do not need to be an expert in sustainability. We are looking for ambitious, curious students with strong analytical and business skills who are motivated to understand how sustainability can be integrated into business strategies and implementations.
The following qualifications are required to apply
- You are currently pursuing or about to start a master's degree in a relevant field, typically within business, economics, sustainability or engineering.
- You are among the top of your class.
- You have strong analytical and conceptual problem-solving abilities and a structured approach to your work.
- You have experience with PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- You speak and write fluent English (Danish language skills are not a requirement but would be an advantage).
- You are a Danish citizen or an EU citizen. Applicants from countries outside the EU who do not already have a valid Danish residence permit cannot be considered, as current visa processing times exceed the timeframe for starting the internship.
In addition, the following qualifications would be advantageous for succeeding as an intern with us:
- Relevant experience from a student job, internship, case competitions, student organizations or other extracurricular activities.
- You have demonstrated the ability to translate complex problems into actionable solutions.
- You can think strategically, see the big picture and tackle problems from the client’s perspective.
- You are proactive, comfortable working independently and enjoy collaborating with others.
- You speak and write fluent Danish and/or another Nordic language.
