About the job
In Gyldendal Fiction we publish both Danish and translated literature, including novels, poetry and crime, from antiquity to the future, from Gilgamesh to Édouard Louis, from Leonora Christina to Olga Ravn, Theis Ørntoft and Amina Elmi.
We are ten editors, and we publish about 80 new items per year. We are all deeply committed to helping create and maintain a literary public sphere with diversity, originality and breadth.
For the spring semester 2027 we are seeking a full-time intern (30 ECTS), who can and will work with translated and Danish titles. The work will consist of everything from proofreading, text editing, image search, writing of sales and back-cover texts and other practical tasks to reading and discussion of manuscripts.
Essentially: the more you contribute, the more varied tasks you will get.
You are
In the master's program in Communications, Danish, Literary Studies, Rhetoric, Media Studies or similar. You are diligent, you love books, you enjoy working in a team, you are keen to make things work and would rather go another round on a book than be satisfied with “good enough,” and you are always ready for a lively discussion about a pitch, a cover or holes in the canon.
We offer
An internship position where you come into the heart of the country’s oldest and largest publishing house and gain insight into the work of an editor. As an intern at Gyldendal’s you will, among other things,:
- Read along with and edit ongoing book projects
- Contribute to the development of new publication ideas
- Prepare cover and sales texts
- Gain insight into collaboration with authors, designers and other relevant parties
If you have questions about the internship, you can contact editor Lene Wissing and Eva Magelund Krarup at respectively [email protected] and [email protected].
Internship period
The internship lasts 3-4 months, and the working hours are 30 hours per week. The internship is unpaid. There is free lunch in our canteen every day.
