Job Description
Intern for Rambøll Management Consulting, Business Strategy & Transactions
Copenhagen, Denmark
Do you want to help change the world and steer companies and societies in a sustainable direction – and contribute to building resilient communities that are prepared for the challenges of the future? Do you want to challenge the boundaries of your profession and develop your talent in an open, collaborative and inclusive culture, while becoming part of our journey to create a globally leading advisory firm in sustainability and strategy?
At Rambøll Management Consulting we are passionate about the green transition, circular economy, social sustainability and the development of resilient communities that can adapt and thrive amidst uncertainty. We specialise in business advisory across various sectors such as energy, transport, infrastructure and construction, and we advise private companies and the public sector. We believe the true value of our services comes from the ability to combine traditional business and strategy consulting with deep technical expertise from the rest of Ramboll.
In our Business Strategy & Transactions Service Practice we help clients across different sectors navigate strategic, transactional and financial decisions. We support with strategic insights, M&A advisory and financial modelling.
If this sounds like you, or you’re curious to learn more, this role could be the perfect opportunity for you. Join our Business Strategy & Transactions team as our new intern and work with us toward a sustainable future.
Your new role
In this position you will gain insight into a global consulting firm, while achieving solid knowledge of what it takes to be a management consultant. As an intern you will help companies make smarter investments and shape future-ready strategies, while developing your consulting skills in an open, collaborative and empowering culture. Bring your interest in business strategy, M&A and commercial advisory into play, while as an intern in management consulting you help deliver effective solutions.
Your main responsibilities will be
- Market analyses related to regulations, competition and trends
- Development of business models and strategic roadmaps
- Commercial due diligence and support in transactions
- Assessment of new technologies/products and implementation strategies
- Preparation of business cases for investment decisions
You will contribute to projects involving data collection, stakeholder analysis, impact assessments and implementation planning, and gain practical experience with the tools and approaches that define modern consulting. Typical project roles include research, data and market analysis, preparation of presentations, report writing and participation in client workshops. Your tasks will vary depending on project scope and your development goals.
Your new team
As an intern in Business Strategy & Transactions you will become part of a dynamic and international team that values both high performance and work-life balance. We combine ambitious, meaningful and fast-paced work with a valued social culture – regular team events, joint celebrations and plenty of opportunities to make connections beyond daily tasks. From the moment you start at Rambøll Management Consulting, we will support your personal and professional development.
You will work with colleagues who share knowledge openly and are approachable, creating a collaborative team culture where people help each other succeed. We maintain a learning-oriented environment with room to develop your skills, build career experience and assume responsibility at an individual pace so you can continue to grow in a business-focused environment.
About you
We welcome students from diverse academic backgrounds such as economics, business, finance or engineering. Whether your passion lies in market assessments, regulatory studies, strategy, M&A or financial modelling, there is room for your perspective here.
While we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, we have set some qualifications, skills and capabilities for this role that will give you a solid starting point for success.
These are
- You are currently pursuing or about to begin a Master’s degree in a relevant graduate programme, typically within business, economics, sustainability or engineering (You MUST also be enrolled in a graduate programme for the entire duration of the internship).
- You are among the best in your class.
- You have relevant professional experience from student jobs, internships or voluntary activities.
- You work in a structured way and have strong analytical and conceptual abilities.
- You think strategically, have a high degree of abstraction and can put yourself in the client’s shoes.
- You can work independently, but also thrive in a team.
- You have experience with PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- You speak and write fluent English (Danish language skills are not required, but would be an advantage).
- You are a Danish citizen or an EU citizen. Applicants from non-EU countries who do not already hold a valid Danish residence permit cannot be considered, as current visa processing times exceed the internship start window.
