Job description

Intern for Rambøll Management Consulting, Economics

Aarhus, Denmark

Do you want to help change the world and steer companies and society in a sustainable direction – and contribute to building resilient communities that are prepared for the challenges of the future? Do you want to challenge the boundaries of your field and develop your talent in an open, collaborative and inclusive culture, while becoming part of our journey to create a globally leading advisory firm in sustainability and strategy?

Use your interest in economics for society in an internship at Rambøll Management Consulting, where you contribute to delivering integrated and sustainable solutions. In this role you will gain insight into a global consulting company and at the same time build a solid understanding of what it takes to work as a management consultant.

We are passionate about the green transition, circular economy, sustainable finance, social sustainability and building resilient communities that can adapt and thrive in a world of uncertainty. We are specialists in business and sustainability consulting across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, construction, industry, waste and water, and we advise both private companies and the public sector.

We deliver sustainability strategies, financial advisory and implementation plans as a one-stop shop for our clients. We believe that the true value of our services arises from the ability to combine traditional business and strategy consulting with deep sustainability expertise in one cohesive team – and thus deliver holistic solutions that address both areas simultaneously.

Your new role

As an intern in Economics you will be attached to several projects, where you will form a fixed and central part of a number of project teams – also across Rambøll Management Consulting’s other Service Practices. Your main tasks and areas of responsibility will be:

  • Econometric and statistical analyses
  • Setting up Excel models and interactive dashboards
  • Data processing and data cleaning of register and/or survey data
  • Societal-/socioeconomic analyses and assessments of larger public projects or policy initiatives (including local and regional economic analyses)
  • Planning and assistance in connection with data collection
  • Dissemination and communication of analysis results in various formats (e.g. reports, inspiration catalogs and presentations)

Your new team

Economics is part of Rambøll Management Consulting. We specialize in socioeconomic, statistical and econometric analyses that inform and support sustainable decisions and investments for both private companies and public authorities. We focus particularly on:

  • Societal-/socioeconomic analyses and impact assessments
  • Statistical and econometric modeling
  • Valuation of non-monetary or complex values
  • Ex-ante calculations, cost-benefit analyses, scenario analyses, projections and business cases
  • Ex-post evaluations of policy, initiatives or investments

As an intern at Rambøll Management Consulting you will be part of a dynamic team working with everything from strategy, sustainability and M&A to public policy, organizational development and business development. You will contribute to projects involving data collection, stakeholder analyses, impact assessments and implementation plans and gain practical experience with the methods and tools that characterize modern consulting work.

We work across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, construction, industry, waste and water. We advise municipalities, ministries, NGOs and private companies and provide integrated solutions that combine deep sustainability knowledge with strategic insight. From policy evaluations to financial advisory and ESG strategies, we offer our clients a single entry point to navigate complexity and drive real change.

About you

From day one at Rambøll Management Consulting we will support your personal and professional development so you can continue to grow with us. We look forward to supporting your continued learning, and to finding the right match we have listed a number of qualifications and competencies that will give you the best prerequisites for success in this role:

  • You are pursuing or will soon begin a master's degree in a relevant field, such as cand.oecon, cand.polit or cand.oecon with a specialization in public policy.
  • You are among the top of your class.
  • You have relevant work experience from student jobs, internships or voluntary activities.
  • You work in a structured way and have strong analytical and conceptual abilities.
  • You think strategically, have a high degree of abstraction and can put yourself in the client’s shoes.
  • You can work independently, but also thrive in a team.
  • You have experience with PowerPoint, Word and Excel and preferably statistical software (e.g. Stata, SAS, R or Python).
  • You speak and write fluent English (Danish skills are not a requirement but would be an advantage).
  • You are a Danish citizen or EU citizen. Applicants from non-EU countries that do not already have a valid Danish residence permit cannot be considered, as current visa processing times exceed the timeframe for starting the internship.
