Introductory doctors for Surgery and Intensive Care, Viborg Regional Hospital

Come and become part of the team! Two positions as introductory doctors in anesthesia, job numbers 6630-01-84-i07 and 6630-01-84-i03, at Hospital Unit Middle, Department of Surgery and Intensive Care, Viborg Regional Hospital, are available for filling as of March 1, 2027, or by agreement.

About the positions

Surgery and Intensive Care, Viborg Regional Hospital is a large well-functioning department with 18 consultants, 7 specialists and a large group of training doctors (4th-year HU doctors as well as intro/post-intro doctors).

Education is a high priority and some of what we offer is;

• Well-planned introduction with 6 weeks of daytime training which is described in detail in your individually planned introductory program
• Assigned main supervisor and planned first supervisory conversation before the start of employment
• Assigned a "buddy" in the form of an introductory physician colleague, who is responsible for collegial backing and sparring in the startup phase
• On-call role after 6 weeks with continued strong focus on supervised training and support from the rest of the on-call team
• Wide range of anesthesia methods: training in both IV and gas anesthesia, regional blocks and central blocks
• Wide range of anesthesia procedures including placement of peripheral and central vascular access with ultrasound
• Specific focus on regional nerve blocks with formalised teaching via e-learning (USabcd-licence), block-day with an experienced consultant and ongoing supervision of procedures
• Involvement in all emergency calls (cardiac arrest, acute medical call, trauma call, emergency cesarean section and emergency pediatric)
• Educational days on the emergency ambulance (or others as desired)
• 4 weeks of focused stay in intensive care with supervised rounds in daytime function
• Opportunity for sparring with the chief of research regarding possible projects and articles

About the department

We are a busy department - often we need to have several balls in the air and maneuver around in many varied multidisciplinary contexts – whether in the operating room, the delivery ward or in the emergency department.

We help each other - in daily work and during on-call time, where you as on-call doctor are backed up by the back-up on-call (HU doctor or specialist) and the on-call consultant.

We have a good atmosphere - with a high degree of collegiality, where education and collaboration across on-call shifts and seniority are valued. We have a shared mid-morning coffee every day and regularly hold social events.

We offer teaching - the junior doctor group holds monthly after-work meetings (paid) where relevant topics are taught, and in addition the junior doctor participates in department simulation training (neonatal resuscitation, acute situations in the operating room and acute medical calls in the emergency department).

Note regarding transport: There are several good commuter schemes from Aarhus and in addition the train goes right to the door. If needed, a night room can be borrowed and the hospital has physician housing in close proximity.

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in the field. With reference to the Act on the procurement of criminal record certificates in connection with employment of personnel, etc., a criminal record certificate will be obtained in connection with possible employment.
