Would you like to investigate railway accidents, incidents and other safety-related issues at Banedanmark?

As an investigations manager at Banedanmark you will be part of a team of six investigators that forms part of the Regulations & Incidents section together with the team for Operational Rules & Emergency Response. You will also be part of the Safety Management area, which in addition to our investigations handles safety analyses, route inventories and audits, as well as the coordination of Banedanmark's management system and risk management.

The section's staff are spread between Copenhagen and Fredericia, but the workplace for this position will be in Copenhagen at Carsten Niebuhrs Gade 43 right by Dybbølsbro Station. However you should expect 1-2 travel days per month to our other locations.

Focus on causes and measures

The core tasks in the role as investigations manager are to investigate safety-related incidents in collaboration with investigation shifts and staff in the respective areas of Banedanmark. We place great emphasis on identifying direct and underlying causes of incidents as well as identifying trends so that we can implement preventive measures and corrective actions.

This includes collection and analysis of incident data, interviews, witness statements and discussions with the involved parties, as well as the preparation of summaries and investigation reports. At the accident site data will also be collected that you will administratively process and analyze. At times you will also need to go out on the track and investigate further.

Analytical and able to communicate knowledge

In the position, it is highly valued that you have a solid knowledge of the railway and the safety rules in the railway sector. You may have a background from a railway safety education or alternatively you may have an academic education in analytical work, where you have gained experience in analyzing and processing data. In the role as investigations manager there is a strong emphasis on your ability to communicate your knowledge both in writing and orally.

We offer a job with a good work-life balance and flexible working conditions. We highly value both your professional development and well-being, and there are good opportunities for courses and further training if you wish to develop your competencies further.

Your place of service is Copenhagen, close to public transport. Here you will be part of the Regulations & Incidents section, which consists of investigations managers (who follow up on incidents and accidents), rules case workers (who maintain the traffic rules), graphic designers (who among other things maintain the route inventories) and emergency preparedness staff (who coordinate the overall emergency preparedness at Banedanmark).

Salary and employment
