About the job

Set the direction for the architecture in shared municipal solutions

IT architect in the Welfare and Data Administration area, KOMBIT

Do you want to work with the architecture behind the solutions that municipalities use every day in the welfare area, and help decide where they should be headed? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for.

Together with the municipalities and IT suppliers, we work for better service and more coherent and cost-effective solutions, among other things by creating transparency in the IT market and making data accessible across.

We are looking for a technically strong and collaborative architect who will have a clear professional mandate. You start with the solution responsibility for one or two of the administration area’s IT solutions. Here you set the technical direction, ensure coherence with the other solutions, and challenge the suppliers on quality, operations and value creation for the municipalities. You join an agile setup according to Scrum and contribute with architectural sparring and follow-up on the supplier's deliveries.

The role gives you space to grow professionally. You will have something concrete to stand on from day one, and when you know the solutions and the collaboration, you can take greater responsibility for the architecture across the entire area. How quickly and in which direction, we will figure out together.

Your primary areas of responsibility

  • Have the architecture and solution responsibility for one or two of the administration area’s IT solutions, e.g. the data warehouse FLIS with the municipalities' shared management information and the DUBU case management system for vulnerable children and youth.
  • Ensure coherence, integrations and data flow to the other solutions and ensure that the architecture supports stable and efficient operations.
  • Develops and maintains architecture principles, target architecture and technical roadmap for your solutions and helps shape them for the entire area.
  • Acts as a technical sparring partner for the head of administration, the product manager and Product Owners and qualifies decision bases with architectural assessments.
  • Participates in the agile setup according to Scrum, contributes to backlog refinement and sprint planning and challenges the supplier's solution design and deliveries from an architectural perspective.
  • Leads with AI in the area: both how the solutions can create more value for the municipalities, and how the architecture can make room for new AI-based possibilities.
  • Ensures that the architecture complies with requirements for compliance and information security, including GDPR and NIS2.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers on technical solutions and dependencies.
  • Contributes technical input to economic prioritizations and assessments of costs of architectural choices.

We imagine that you have

  • Experience as an IT architect, solution architect or enterprise architect with responsibility for the architecture in complex solutions.
  • Good understanding of data- and BI-domain, including data modeling, data quality, validation, data cleansing and GDPR.
  • Experience with architecture for or technical responsibility for a data warehouse at a larger scale, including technical transformations.
  • Experience with working in an agile setup and challenging a supplier's solution design and deliveries.
  • Practical experience with Scrum and familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog management and follow-up on deliveries.
  • Experience in setting technical requirements in supplier and contract contexts.
  • Ability to take responsibility and create momentum and a shared direction through professionalism and dialogue.
  • Strong relational and communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical matters to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

It is advantageous if you also have

  • Experience with architecture, implementation and follow-up on data- and BI-solutions, preferably delivered by external vendors.
  • Experience with architecture for case-management systems or business process solutions.
  • Experience applying AI in a data- or BI-context, e.g. for automating data quality processes, data analysis or development of solutions, and the ability to translate opportunities into concrete value for municipalities.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and testing of data from a user perspective.
  • Knowledge of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or the Common Public Digital Architecture (FDA).
  • Experience with cloud architecture, preferably on Azure.
  • A structured approach and the ability to create overview, direction and momentum.
  • Perseverance and patience when many stakeholders are involved.

You don't have to check all the boxes. If you have a solid foundation in data and architecture and want to grow into the rest, we'd like to hear from you.

Your position in the organization

You will be employed in the Welfare and Data administration area and report directly to the administration head. Professionally, you will have ongoing sparring with KOMBIT's architectural professional environment, so you are not alone with the field. You have the solution responsibility for the architecture in your solutions and work closely with the product head, who has the business responsibility, and with the area’s Product Owners. As the role grows, you will also take responsibility for coherence of the architecture across the area.

Focus on you and your (work)life

We offer you a job where you will work with some of Denmark's largest IT solutions in digitalization and IT-driven innovation in municipalities. In KOMBIT it is important that all employees find a good balance between work and private life. We create motivating frameworks that give employees freedom to plan and solve their tasks according to individual needs.

For the same reason you will quickly experience that there is plenty of room and plenty of opportunity to make your mark on a daily life filled with exciting tasks. As an organization we focus on you and your (work) life in balance. We call it LiFE.
