IT Chief to the Tax Administration: Director of Professional Affairs for Customs, Motor and Cross-cutting Operations

Can you step into the executive leadership of Denmark's largest IT agency, and would you help increase trust in the Tax Administration? Then you may be Development and Simplification Agency's new Chief Director.

Your responsibility as Chief Director

As Chief Director for Customs, Motor and Cross-cutting Operations you will lead a domain with just under 340 employees, supervised by three deputy directors and 19 divisional managers. The area manages a financial framework of over DKK 1.3 billion. You will thus be a top leader in your own right while also being part of an executive leadership team.

The Chief Director has the overall responsibility for development, maintenance and operation of the IT systems that support the Tax Agency and the Motor Agency. At the same time, the area is responsible for a number of cross-cutting methods and standards and for the Tax and Growth Ministry's own IT operations, including user support for the ministry's more than 12,000 employees.

You will be one of five chief directors who, together with the agency director, constitute the top management. Development and Simplification Agency is an organization undergoing change, and as part of a relatively new board you will have ample opportunity to shape decisions about the agency's development and strategic direction.

You will as a starting point, among other things, be responsible for

• Realisation of IT development projects and programs as well as optimization and efficiency improvements of existing IT solutions in the respective customs and motor areas.
• To create a transparent basis for the IT priorities of the Tax Agency and the Motor Agency, including advising on value-creating and timely IT solutions.
• The strategic direction for the development, implementation and maintenance of common methods for project management, architecture and technology across the Tax Administration.
• Implementation of the agency's IT operations strategy as well as support and development of the Tax Administration's own IT operations and the collaboration with vendors in this regard.
• Establishing and expanding the collaboration with the State IT on the operation of the Tax and Growth Ministry's basic IT, including optimization and efficiency of operations.

The position is placed in salary framework 39, and the workplace is Frederiksberg. The department's employees are physically located in Frederiksberg and in Aalborg.

We are seeking a chief director with top-level leadership experience and solid knowledge of IT operations and development. It is important that you can build and maintain trusting and constructive relationships with the agency's internal and external partners, just as you must be able to participate in the strategic and business development of the agency and the Tax Administration.

Specifically we imagine that you

• have substantial leadership experience at a strategic level from a politically governed organization
• have spent a significant part of your career working with IT and are able to bridge business and technical perspectives
• can create good collaborative relationships internally in the agency, across the Tax and Growth Ministry group and with external partners
• have political acumen and strong communication skills that can ensure transparency of the agency's work to the political level
• can ensure progress in larger and more complex projects with many stakeholders
• are a clear and motivating leader who sets direction for managers and staff in the domain.

About us

Development and Simplification Agency has about 1,500 employees who work to develop, operate and maintain new and existing IT systems in the Tax and Growth Ministry's group, so that they are stable, secure and cost-effective.

Salary and employment terms are negotiated in accordance with the framework agreement on contract employment of managers in the state. The position is placed in salary group 3, corresponding to salary framework 39. The position is expected to be filled on a permanent basis.

You will be employed in the Ministry of Taxation and Growth with associated institutions. The workplace is Osvald Helmuths Vej 4, 2000 Frederiksberg.
