About the job
Would you like to be involved in operating the Linux servers and platforms on which some of Denmark's Prisons' most important systems are built?
We are seeking several IT operations consultants for operation, troubleshooting and further development of Linux-based platforms. You will work with modern open source technologies such as RabbitMQ, Ceph, OpenSearch, APISIX, Grafana and OpenBao in an environment where stable operation, security and technical curiosity go hand in hand.
We are looking for candidates with different areas of expertise. The most important is that you have solid experience with Linux operation and system administration as well as interest in or experience with some of our technologies. We do not expect one person to cover the entire technology stack.
It is an advantage if you have experience with one or more of the following technologies and platforms:
- Linux servers
- Bash scripting
- RabbitMQ
- Ceph
- OpenSearch
- APISIX
- Grafana
- OpenBao
Here you will have responsibility
You will become part of IT-service in the Department of IT and Digitalisation. The positions are newly created, and you will work with both traditional Linux server environments and modern open source platforms.
Your day-to-day includes planned maintenance, technical troubleshooting and handling of urgent incidents. When something fails, you help restore operation and find a lasting solution.
The focus is primarily on stable operation and troubleshooting, but also on ongoing improvements, automation and optimization of the platforms.
Your tasks include, among others
- Operations, maintenance and troubleshooting of Linux platforms, applications and related services
- Monitoring of systems and identification of recurring errors and incidents
- Implementation of security improvements and remediation of identified vulnerabilities
- Automation and standardization of operational tasks, including via scripting
- Operations and fault handling within DNS, networking and DHCP
- Documentation of solutions, changes and procedures
- Collaboration with vendors and internal teams on operations and fault resolution
We value
You have solid experience with Linux operations and system administration and can independently investigate and resolve technical issues.
You work in a structured manner, document your work and incorporate IT security into daily operations. At the same time you collaborate professionally with colleagues, vendors and other disciplines, even when an incident requires quick action.
Experience with Bash, automation, application operations, ITIL or one or more of the mentioned technologies is an advantage. Please tell us which areas you have experience with and where you would like to develop.
A workplace with societal impact
Denmark's Prisons is part of the Ministry of Justice group and supports institutions across the country as well as on the Faroe Islands and in Greenland.
Every day we contribute to Denmark being safe and secure by carrying out the sentences prescribed by the courts.
In IT-service we are about 35 employees along with three deputy heads and a head of office. Together with the rest of the Department of IT and Digitalisation, which counts about 100 employees, we support about 5,000 users.
You will have engaged colleagues, an informal tone and good opportunities for professional development.
