About the job

Are you ready for an exciting and meaningful job in cybersecurity? Do you want to help ensure that Region North Jutland stands even stronger against cyber threats? Are you ready to become part of an ambitious team that places a high value on professionalism and development? Then here is a unique opportunity to make a difference, work with critical infrastructure, and become part of the healthcare sector in Denmark.

Your daily life with us

As an IT security consultant you will be an important piece in the Region's work to protect critical infrastructure and health data. Depending on your profile you will either work with security monitoring and security analysis of IT systems and networks to detect and respond to unwanted activity, with identifying and handling vulnerabilities across IT and OT, or with ensuring that our log management- and SIEM platform creates value in daily security work.

You will in the role work closely with the unit's other employees, who all contribute to Region Nordjylland having a strong team with high ambitions. To succeed in the position, it is important that you:

  • understand the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • take the lead in solving tasks and drive them to completion
  • can work independently as well as in cross-disciplinary teams
  • think it is exciting to be proactive and turn yet another “technical stone”
  • have the desire to identify threats, vulnerabilities and unwanted activity

We collaborate with an external 24/7/365 Managed SOC provider, which means that the position does not entail work outside normal working hours.

About the job

We are strengthening our operational security team, and therefore seek colleagues for tasks within particularly two areas: Patch Management and Cross-Functional Security. However there will naturally be both need and opportunity to participate in other tasks in the team. Please in your application indicate if there is one of the areas you particularly have interest in working with.

Patch- and Mitigation Management

As an IT security consultant with a focus on patch- and mitigation management you help create structure and progress in the work with patching of vulnerabilities, and mitigation that limits vulnerabilities. It is an advantage if you have an understanding of networks as well as general technical understanding of IT and/or OT.

Your primary tasks will be to

  • maintain and develop the processes for the area
  • in close collaboration with your colleagues assist the organization with recommendations and prioritization regarding vulnerabilities
  • work closely with IT operations and system owners on patching, mitigation and packaging
  • handle exceptions and reduce risk in collaboration with the information security team
  • prepare reporting and risk assessment of patches
  • participate in development regarding automation of workflows and processes

Cross-functional Generalist

As an IT security consultant focused on cross-functional processes, you will have broad involvement. It is therefore an advantage if you already have knowledge of working with vulnerabilities, incidents, etc., as well as knowledge of the organization.

Your primary tasks will be to

  • participation in vulnerability and incident management both within IT and OT
  • coordinate the work regarding secure communication and support emergency readiness processes
  • participate in development regarding automation of workflows and processes
  • assist with ad-hoc tasks and support the team, management and the organization at large
  • assist the team and management with vendor and contract management in the area, including tender assistance

About you

It is your interest and curiosity in cybersecurity that matters most. Your educational background can come from many programs, but you may have completed a relevant IT education such as data technician, computer scientist, cand.scient. or similar – alternatively you have gained relevant technical insight through work experience. You have several years of relevant experience either in security analysis or IT security. You have a well-developed analytical sense, a problem-solver mindset, and not least a good understanding of threat landscapes, threat actors, IT infrastructure and the different forms of attack.

You have experience working analytically with technical data and cybersecurity tools, including log-management, SIEM platforms, NDR solutions, vulnerability scanners. Experience with OT environments or cloud security is an advantage.

You are good at communicating clearly and understandably at both technical and management levels, service-minded and good at working individually as well as in teams. You also understand the importance of documenting and following up on your tasks for the benefit of the organization and the citizens.

It is a condition of employment that you can obtain security clearance and subsequently maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.

What do we offer?

You will become part of a strong professional environment, where we work purposefully within cyber- and information security, in a department that is informal, dynamic and with 15 engaged skilled colleagues. You will help set the agenda for cyber security in the healthcare sector, as well as work with tasks and challenges in a forward-thinking agile approach. You will have a broad contact surface and cross-organizational collaboration internally in Region Nordjylland and also collaboration relations across the regions. We offer a position where opportunities to contribute and have influence are substantial.

On Digitalisation and IT
