About the job
Are you a person who thrives on delving into complex problems and finding structured solutions? And are you fascinated by securing digital systems against modern threats? Then you might be our new IT Security Architect.
Join the work to secure PET’s technological foundation
As an IT Security Architect at PET, your overarching task will be to design and implement security architecture that protects PET’s critical systems and data.
About the section and your tasks
You will be part of the Center for Digital Services in the IT Security & Architecture Section. We are a team that works closely together to develop, maintain and upgrade PET’s security architecture. You will have an advisory and technically heavy role, where you both set direction and support concrete projects and development initiatives.
We are looking for an architect who not only identifies risks but is committed to finding the solutions that make it possible to operate securely. Your task is to be a partner who finds the technical paths forward, rather than merely obstructing progress through restrictions.
You will work in a technological environment ranging from critical on-premise systems to modernization and security across various operational solutions.
Your core tasks include
- Design and implement security architecture and infrastructure in general.
- Create standardized security solutions, implement frameworks and reference architectures.
- Define security principles and standards for development and operation.
- Conduct architecture reviews with a security focus.
- Identify and evaluate security risks and develop controls.
- Advise projects on secure design and technology choices.
- Contribute to modernization of legacy systems.
You will collaborate closely with IT security specialists, compliance teams, architects and the rest of PET.
We feel that our daily work is never dull because we constantly deal with unique challenges and develop solutions that can’t be found elsewhere. The tasks are complex and require a high degree of professionalism and engagement.
Have a daily routine that never becomes routine
It takes IT professionals to defend freedom, people, and democracy, and PET is a large IT workplace. Here, developers, infrastructure specialists, network technicians, self-taught hackers, firewall specialists and many others with an IT background work. Some have chosen PET to work on large and complex tasks. Others were drawn to the fact that we design many of our solutions from scratch, develop and implement them. Our colleagues rely on our work, and we are involved from start to finish. Finally, many of us have chosen this job to work with a cause that is bigger than profit and billable hours.
We have a higher purpose.
Our workplace is like no other. As an IT Security Architect at PET, you will be part of a daily life characterized by tasks that don’t exist elsewhere, and every day offers new challenges that didn’t exist yesterday. We have a daily life that never becomes routine, and you can experience that too.
You are an experienced technical professional with an analytical approach
You possess a solid technical foundation and an analytical approach to security challenges. This is demonstrated through at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, IT security or a similar field. In addition to your technical experience, you work in a structured way and can easily lead projects and manage documentation.
Your experience includes
- Substantial experience: At least 5-8 years of proven experience in infrastructure, IT security and/or operations, with demonstrated ability to take on increasing responsibility.
- Architecture capabilities: Minimum 3-5 years of experience with IT security architecture, where you have shown the ability to design secure systems from the ground up and assess existing architectures.
- Risk assessment & Compliance: Experienced in risk assessment, threat modeling and vulnerability analysis, as well as deep knowledge of relevant standards and controls (ISO 27001, NIST or CIS18).
- Technological knowledge: Familiar with modern security technologies and ongoing continuous learning.
- Certifications: Experience at or around certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+ or GSEC
In a field of constant change, continuous learning is a prerequisite for the role. We require you to stay up to date with the latest technology and security standards, and we support this development by ensuring the right frameworks and opportunities for ongoing education and certification.
You are proactive, analytical, enjoy collaboration and have a strong interest in understanding PET’s business areas to translate them into a secure architecture. You are motivated to solve complex challenges and have a clear desire to find constructive solutions that support the organization’s goals and technological development.
