About the job
Would you like to ensure stable, secure and automated operation of the platforms that support the Ministry of Education's IT solutions? Do you thrive at the intersection of development and operations and are you motivated by automation, modern operating platforms and cross-disciplinary collaboration?
Then you could be the new colleague we are looking for to join the platform team in the Agency for IT and Learning.
About the role
As an IT technician in the platform team in the Center for Operations, Infrastructure and Operational Security (DOS), you will become part of a technically strong team that is responsible for the agency's common operations and development platforms.
The team focuses on delivering modern, stable and secure platforms that, through automation and clear processes, support both software development and daily application operations. We continue to develop the platforms in line with the organization's needs and at the same time focus on maintenance, monitoring and handling of operational and security incidents.
Your main tasks
- Operate, maintain and further develop common operations and development platforms
- Handle upgrades, patch management and vulnerabilities
- Troubleshoot and optimize across platforms, infrastructure and applications
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code
- Automate deployment, release and operations tasks
- Support development teams with standardized and automated solutions
- Work with monitoring, telemetry and log analysis
- Ensure documentation and compliance with requirements
We work from DevOps principles with a focus on standardized, replaceable environments rather than highly customized solutions. Infrastructure as Code is a core principle – the desired state of systems is defined and version-controlled as code.
About you
Your educational and experiential background can be varied. You could be an IT technician, system administrator, data scientist, data analyst, IT technologist or engineer.
The most important thing is that you are engaged, technically well-founded and enjoy operations and maintenance. You are curious about automation and modern operating methods and motivated by turning concrete needs and challenges into stable and efficient solutions.
You can analyze and solve technical problems across technologies and you thrive with operations tasks and development going hand in hand. You work in a structured and methodical way and collaborate well across different disciplines.
You do not need to know everything from the start. We are looking for both experienced profiles and candidates with less experience who have the right technical foundation and the desire to build on their competencies and develop in the role.
It is an advantage if you have experience with
- Open Source technologies such as Linux and PostgreSQL
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Ansible/AWX and Git
- OpenStack or other cloud/virtualization platforms
- CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and TeamCity
- Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry or similar tools for monitoring and observability
We offer
- A central role in the operation and further development of the agency's common and critical platforms
- A professionally strong environment with modern technologies and a high degree of open source
- An on-premise cloud infrastructure
- A high degree of influence on technical solutions and architecture
- A good collegial community with a focus on collaboration
- Good opportunities for professional and personal development

In STIL we are about 30 agile teams working with development, maintenance, application operations and infrastructure operations of UVM's IT solutions. You will have colleagues with high expertise and good opportunities for competency development through courses, conferences and internal programs.
