About the job
Do you want to make a difference for young people who have difficulty finding their footing in the labor market or in an education?
Do you see yourself as a bridge-builder between companies and the young people? Do you want to help motivate and create progression for the individual young person’s employment while contributing to ensuring the companies' future workforce? If you can answer yes to these questions, then you are exactly who we are looking for!
In Kerteminde Municipality we work purposefully to support young people on the path to education and employment. We believe that young people have resources and potential that can be put to use in the labor market or in an education.
With the new framework in the employment reform and the Ungeløftet (Youth Guarantee) initiative, we are well underway to further develop and qualify our existing efforts. For this, we are seeking a job consultant who can contribute professionally and with commitment to the continued development of our work with young people and local companies.
About the position
As a job consultant in the Youth Department, you will be part of a professionally strong team, and you will have a central role in bringing the young people closer to work or education.
You will be responsible for your own caseload, where, in close collaboration with the individual caseworker, you are responsible for supporting the young person into work or education.
We base our work on the new reform, and we already work methodically with, among other things, the IPS method. We believe that paid hours are effective, and strive to establish the good match for both companies and the individual young person.
As a job consultant you will therefore work to establish paid hours and internships where there is a need. Your focus should be based on an individual professional assessment of what creates progression and strengthens the individual young person’s belief in their own possibilities.
Your tasks will include, among others
- Support young people on cash benefits aged 18-30 into work or education.
- Create good matches for the companies and the young people and ensure progression and close follow-up with a view to development and job establishment.
- Work systematically with the effort and ensure ongoing description of the youths’ pathways.
- Participate in close cross-disciplinary collaboration around the individual youth, focusing on succeeding together — with regard to the individual youth’s needs.
- Engage in cross-cutting collaboration with a common goal of servicing companies and helping them secure the demanded workforce.
We are looking for someone who;
- Has solid experience with the employment field, including experience in working as a job consultant.
- Has insight into employment legislation and the youth sector and preferably experience with using disability compensation schemes.
- Thrives in proactive contact with companies.
- Has good relationship skills and tools to establish relationships and a trusting collaboration with young people in vulnerable situations.
- Meets the young people where they are with an appreciative and resource-focused approach.
- Is professionally curious about effective methods and approaches, and you dare to try new paths to secure more young people in education or work — perhaps experience with the IPS method.
- Has a deep understanding of the labor market and preferably knowledge of the local business community.
- Works systematically and has an eye for both details and the bigger picture.
About the Youth Department
In the Youth Department we work with young people aged 18-29 and focus on ensuring that all young people have the opportunity to stand on their own feet through education or employment.
We believe that relationships, realistic goals and perseverance are the keys to lasting change – both for the individual young person and for our overall effort.
What we offer
An exciting position in a development-oriented department where there is an opportunity to influence the direction of the youth effort in light of the employment reform and Ungeløftet.
An engaged and cross-disciplinary team of 7 employees, where we have 4 caseworkers including a coordinator, 2 job consultants and 1 IPS consultant focusing on professional sparring and shared learning.
You will become part of Kerteminde’s Youth Department (KUI), which is housed at Strandgården in Kerteminde. Here you will become part of a work community with caseworkers, job consultants, UU-guides, home guides, wood workshop, STU, etc.
At Strandgården we have optimal opportunities to leverage interdisciplinarity as well as flexible use of spaces, rooms and resources.
Opportunity for a 4-day workweek (37 hours distributed Monday–Thursday).
