About the job
Would you like to be part of implementing a historically large transformation of the Danish landscape, where you get the opportunity to use your expertise as part of the political decision-making process? Can you see yourself working on the implementation of the most ambitious green agreement in recent times in the Ministry of Nature and Animal Welfare?
We are seeking professionally strong assistants or consultants with good knowledge of or strong interest in the agricultural sector – including rules, agricultural practices and the natural science basis – who want to help carry out the major implementation work for a Green Denmark.
About us
The Ministry of Nature and Animal Welfare has a broad and politically prioritized range of tasks. A central task is to realize the green tripartite agreement, including the conversion of Danish land from agriculture to nature and forest, the protection of the water environment and the introduction of the world's first climate levy on agriculture. In the area of animal welfare, the ministry is, among other things, facing work on a pig four-party agreement and the continued transition towards more sustainable production.
The ministry consists of a department and two professional agencies: the Nature Agency and the Agency for Green Land-Use Change and Water Environment.
What you will mainly be working with
The positions are located in the Water Environment and Nitrogen office. Here you will work with two office managers and 22 colleagues. Our areas of expertise span a broad spectrum, and we work closely together to bring all perspectives into play. There is room for both professional sparring and camaraderie, and we value an informal tone.
In the office, we work, among other things, with the water environment initiative and nitrogen regulation, including, among other things, improving efforts for coastal waters, lakes and streams, existing and new regulatory model for the agricultural nitrogen emissions. These are areas with great political attention.
Your tasks will initially relate to nitrogen regulation, including the transition to the new regulatory model. This includes ministerial support, where you will, among other things, contribute to decision proposals for the minister and government, professional notes and responses to questions from the Folketing.
Here you will have the opportunity to use and/or develop your knowledge of the existing regulatory framework in the agricultural sector, as well as an understanding of the natural processes that agriculture is subject to, and apply it in the political decision-making process. In addition, there will be close collaboration with the Agency for Green Land-Use Change and Water Environment, which plays a significant role with professional and legal contributions to the task solution.
About you
You have a relevant natural science or social science candidate degree or the like and preferably knowledge of the field.
We also expect that you can see yourself in the following statements
- Have professional interest and strong competencies: You have education or experience with the regulatory framework in the natural and agricultural sector or alternatively great interest and ability to immerse yourself in the area (e.g., agronomist, nature manager, agricultural economist, biologist, geographer, economist or similar). You enjoy working at the intersection of natural and social sciences, making calculations and analyses, and at the same time translating technical and professional input into political solutions.
- Have a broad overview and understanding of political processes: You are well-structured and can maintain an overview, even when things go fast.
- Have strong collaboration skills: You are proactive and good at involving and collaborating with colleagues, agencies, ministries and organizations. You find it exciting to collaborate with other professional disciplines and find solutions to political problems.
- Good communicator: You are good at conveying complex issues clearly and precisely, and you have good language skills, written and spoken.
- Good colleague: You contribute as a team player and are a good colleague, but also ready to take on independent responsibility. You are motivated to contribute to the office's task solving and gladly give and receive feedback in collaboration.
We offer you
- An exciting job in a ministry on a politically prioritized area.
- Good opportunities to develop your professional potential and your personal competencies.
- Skilled colleagues with many different professional backgrounds and close collaboration on the task solution.
- Mutual flexibility in planning of work execution.
We look forward to receiving your application.
