Junior Doctor Year 1 in Neurology for the Dementia Unit, Aalborg University Hospital

A one-year position as a doctor at level 1 in neurology is available for occupation in the Dementia Unit as of 01.12.2026 (or by agreement).

The Dementia Unit is a multidisciplinary entity organized under the Neurological Department, but is staffed with personnel from both neurology, geriatrics, and geriatric psychiatry. The Dementia Unit conducts assessment of dementia and other cognitive disorders for the entire Region of North Jutland.

We are seeking a doctor who is interested in neurology and who is outgoing and skilled at collaborating with other staff groups, as you will become part of a specialized multidisciplinary diagnostic team.

The position will consist exclusively of daytime work on weekdays in the Dementia Unit, primarily in the form of preliminary examinations of patients referred for evaluation, but also the possibility to see patients for outpatient consultations, as well as other tasks of the unit.

You do not participate in on-call duties in the Neurological Department or other department functions.

The position can be relevant as an introduction to the neurological specialty, as a side education if you are aiming for other specialties – or for further upgrading of neurological competencies after completing the introduction training.

At the Neurological Department there are particularly good opportunities to advance clinically and in research. The department has a long-standing collaboration with a guest professor from one of the world’s leading educational institutions in neurology.
