Re-advertisement
Do you want to help secure the legal foundation for work with children and young people in Copenhagen Municipality Area North? Are you motivated by making a difference, and do you thrive in a daily life where the tasks span a broad range? Then perhaps you are the person we are looking for as our legal staff member for a newly created position.
About Area North
In Area North we meet the children already from their first visit by the health service. We cover Nørrebro, Bispebjerg, Brønshøj and Vanløse and service more than 130 day care institutions (nurseries, kindergartens and KKFOs) and 21 public schools. As a lawyer you will have a broad and meaningful area of work, where you can contribute to creating the best framework for children and young people.
You will also become part of a large community of about 250 support staff across Area North. Our support team spans many different professional fields – including pedagogical consultants, psychologists and health visitors – and we work together to support the wellbeing of children and young people. You will be attached to the consulting team, where 25 consultants among others support management and executive level, internally and externally, in relation to developing the professional quality in early childhood and schools.
About the position
As a lawyer in Area North you will be a central sparring partner for primarily the management in the area administration. You will get a versatile role, where you work with concrete cases and also act as an advisor regarding handling of legal cases.
Your main tasks will be
- handling of complaints cases – including dialogue with citizens and preparation of empathetic and conflict-reducing responses
- handling of bullying complaints in cooperation with school consultants, where you contribute to finding solutions in dialogue with all parties
- handling of requests for access to documents
- taskforce cases where there is suspicion of abusive conduct by an employee towards a child/youth
- whistleblower cases
- supporting managers and leaders in support regarding legal questions
About you
We imagine that you
- are a trained lawyer or have solid experience with legal case processing within public administration
- have experience with complaints, access to documents and administrative law – preferably within the child and youth area and thrive with complexity in the tasks
- are strong in dialogue and able to communicate clearly, empathetically and de-escalate conflicts – both in writing and verbally
- thrive on collaborating and advising different professional fields
- are structured, responsible and have an eye for both detail and the big picture
We offer
- an engaged and cross-disciplinary consultant team with high professionalism, strong collegiality and psychological safety
- a workplace where wellbeing, learning and development are in focus
- a thorough intro program and mentoring scheme
- participation in a city-wide legal network, where there is sparring with other lawyers
- good opportunities for both professional and personal development
