APPLY FOR THE JOB

AL Sydbank is in an exciting development, where we continually work to adapt to the bank of the future and the use of new technology. In this context, professional risk management and governance in data protection and especially AI are essential for AL Sydbank to continue to run a competitive bank.

At AL Sydbank you get more than an exciting job. You become part of a modern workplace with high professionalism, good development opportunities and a focus on ensuring that career and private life can fit well together. We believe that the best solutions are created by people who thrive both at and outside work.

You will become part of an area in significant growth, where you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most current regulatory topics in the financial sector, including GDPR, AI Act and other technology regulation. You will be close to both business, management and the bank's technological development and have the opportunity to shape how the bank of the future uses data and artificial intelligence.

About the position

We are seeking a lawyer who wishes to work at the intersection of law, technology and regulatory requirements and who already has experience with data protection law and/or technology-related regulation. You will become part of an area in substantial growth and will have a central role in supporting AL Sydbank's work with data protection, AI and technology regulation.

In the role you will among other things

  • Act as a sparring partner and advise the business on GDPR, AI Act and other data protection and technology regulatory issues.
  • Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical and business-oriented solutions in close collaboration with advisers and staff functions.
  • Prepare and quality-assure documentation such as risk assessments, impact analyses and data processing agreements in close collaboration with the business areas.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the AI Act and the development of the bank's governance model for responsible use of artificial intelligence.
  • If needed, assist the department's sister department – Team IT Sourcing – with work on the rules in DORA and legal sparring on IT contracts.
  • Work closely with management, business and specialists across the bank on the future use of data and technology.

You will be part of Team GDPR & Tech Regulation, which consists of four lawyers, three student trainees and a department head. The team is part of IT Sourcing & Tech Regulation under IT Division, where high professionalism, knowledge sharing and good cooperation go hand in hand with great influence and the possibility to shape development.

With us you have the opportunity to specialise in some of the most current regulatory areas in the financial sector and help shape how the bank of the future uses data and artificial intelligence.

You will have a fixed workplace at either Peberlyk in Aabenraa or Sluseholmen in Copenhagen. There will be some travel activity across the country between the two locations.

About you

We would like to see that

  • You have 2–5 years’ experience with GDPR, compliance, regulatory advisory or similar legal tasks.
  • You are curious about the use of new technology.
  • You can translate your legal knowledge into practice, and you thrive in a day-to-day environment with broad contact with the business via sparring, projects and meetings.
  • You are persistent and dialogue-oriented and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels of the organization.
  • You have a good overview, are proactive and think long term.

We also welcome commercial understanding, and that you, in collaboration with the bank's other stakeholders, can translate commercial and contractual challenges into usable and effective solutions that create value both internally and externally. It is an advantage if you have experience from the financial sector, but not a requirement.
