About the job
Would you like to use your legal expertise close to leaders and employees in an organization where your advice makes a concrete difference? And are you keen to work with personnel law in a complex and meaningful area where every case is about people, leadership, and development?
Randers Municipality's Personnel Law Team is seeking a jurist for a part-time position of 20 hours per week. You will play a central role in supporting the school area in the Children and School Administration and will work closely with school leaders, department heads, and the school chief executive.
You will become an important sparring partner for the management and will have the opportunity to follow the personnel law processes all the way from the initial advice to the final follow-up. The position is for someone who thrives on both legal depth, close dialogue, and advice that can be translated into practical action.
Welcome to a strong and inclusive team
As a personnel jurist you will support the school area within personnel law – from A to Z.
You will become part of the Personnel Law Team, which consists of four personnel jurists and two student assistants, and you will report to the head of the Personnel Law Team. The team is part of People and HR, which also includes HR teams and payroll consultants.
We emphasize knowledge sharing and sparring – both within the team and with our close partners. We work in a process-oriented way and hold weekly meetings where tasks are allocated collectively. You will thus have influence over your tasks and responsibilities and the opportunity to draw on the team’s collective expertise.
Your tasks
You will have a versatile role with legal tasks, all related to the school area. Your primary tasks will be to:
- Advise and guide school and department leaders on personnel law, personnel matters, and recruitments – from start to finish and close to daily management practice.
- Support leaders in concrete and complex personnel cases , including disciplinary cases and sick leave discussions, as well as follow up and debrief after difficult cases.
- Facilitate sparring and learning , so that leaders are strengthened in their own handling of personnel-law issues.
- Contribute to introduction and competency development of newly appointed leaders as well as SFO leaders, pedagogical leaders, and department heads.
- Optimize processes and agreements within personnel law, personnel cases and recruitments as well as solve other tasks in the school area, including work with pre-agreements and collaboration with the relevant unions.
We offer
We offer an exciting and challenging job with varied tasks and good opportunities for professional and personal development. There is ample opportunity to influence one’s own area of work in a daily life with freedom under responsibility and strong leadership backing.
You will become part of a busy, but strong professional environment with engaged, helpful, and skilled colleagues who are passionate about personnel-law tasks and making a difference for the organization. We place a high value on a good working environment, where there is also room to have fun together.
Many questions and inquiries are resolved over the desks in our shared office, where you will have the opportunity to contribute with your thoughts and viewpoints on various personnel-law issues.
We are looking for someone who
- is educated cand.jur or cand.merc.jur. and has experience with personnel law
- has solid experience from a municipality or another public organization
- has good knowledge of the school area
- has experience with sparring with leaders
- is strong in both oral and written communication
- can translate complex law into clear and usable advice
We also imagine that you
- work independently and thrive as part of a team
- enjoy both at the desk and close to the organization
- navigate naturally at all levels in a large public organization
- communicate clearly, respectfully, and empathetically.
In other words, we are seeking a jurist who can build trust and good relationships with leaders and collaboration partners.
