Lawyer to the Social Services Administration – can you make the law and reality fit together?

Are you a skilled jurist who likes when law isn’t just in a book, but actually used? And would you like to work somewhere where you both get to immerse yourself in complex legal issues and help develop practice?

Then you may be our new jurist in the Center Team in Din Sociale Indgang, Socialforvaltningen in Københavns Kommune.

We are seeking an experienced jurist for a permanent position. We’re not looking for one specific specialist. Instead, we’re looking for a jurist with a strong legal method who can understand new areas and translate law into something usable in practice.

A job with both operation and development

You will, as a jurist with us, be close to the practical application of the law. You will both work with concrete legal issues and with developing our practice, workflows and professional standards. Your tasks may include

• legal advice and sparring with caseworkers, professional managers and the management
• handling of complex and principled cases
• legal quality assurance of decisions and appeal cases
• interpretation and application of legislation, practice and policy statements
• teaching and communication of law
• development of guidelines, workflows and templates
• access to information (sparring with our student who handles the tasks around access to information) and other administrative law issues.

The concrete tasks are distributed according to your competences and interests, and in relation to the rest of the legal team.

You do not therefore need to know it all from day one. The most important is that you know the law. The rest we can learn together.

You come close to practice

We work in an area where law, social work, economy and politically set goals must align. Therefore the job is not only about finding the right provision, but also about understanding what it means in practice – and being able to convey that to others.

After thorough onboarding you will gain a high level of independence in task solving. You will however never be alone. We highly value professional sparring and actively use each other when a case requires an extra perspective.

Who are we?

You will become the eighth jurist in our team of jurists that supports the entire adult area. Together with a student and a chief legal consultant who leads the team professionally, we are 10 in total.

We are different both professionally and personally, but what unites us is that we care about our profession and want to do things properly. We help each other, discuss law and challenge each other’s judgments.

And there is room for humor. For even though we work with serious issues and have great responsibility, the workday fortunately does not have to feel like a long exam in administrative law.

We are part of the Center Team in Din Sociale Indgang, where we support the authority area in the Social Administration. We have a broad contact surface across the organization and work closely with both caseworkers and management.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

• are Cand.jur. or Cand.soc.jur.
• have several years of experience as a jurist – preferably from a municipality or another public authority
• have a strong legal method and can get into new areas
• can analyze complex issues and arrive at a clear legal assessment
• can convey your law so others can use it
• work independently and in a structured manner and take responsibility for your tasks
• are eager to be an active part of a professional community.

It is an advantage if you already have knowledge of the social area and the Social Services Act, but it is not a requirement. We believe that a skilled jurist with a good legal method can learn new areas.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a permanent full-time role starting 1 January 2027. Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the current collective agreement for academics employed in municipalities.
