Church singer

We are seeking a skilled and singing-loving church singer for Hou Church to commence on 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position is 4 hours per week.

You will primarily sing at worship services and church ceremonies, but other tasks may also occur. We emphasise that our church singer has a clear and pure voice, and that you can lift and carry the congregational singing.

Hou Parish has just over 1,000 inhabitants; the parish is characterized as a small parish located by the Kattegat and close to the entrance to the Limfjord. In the summer, there are many tourists who also visit the church.

Employment is with Hou Parish Council, located at Strandvejen 146, 9370 Hou.

Employment of a church singer is covered by the Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and CO10 - Central Organization of 2010 and the organizational agreement between the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs and CO10 for church officials with core tasks such as parish clerk, church and culture employee or church musician and the accompanying protocol for church musicians.

The annual salary is agreed within the range of DKK 333,748 – DKK 475,590 (current currency).

OK allowance of DKK 1,082 (current currency) per year.

Salary and OK allowance are pro-rated in accordance with the position's employment fraction.

There is no on-call allowance, so allowances are paid under the rules of the night-pay agreement for services located where there is a right to an allowance.

But parish council's proposed salary level is 3,007 DKK per month for a 4-hour appointment (current currency). In addition, there is an OK allowance.

An agreement on placement in the pay scale is concluded between the parish council and the Danish Church Musicians Association.
