About the job

Kitchen and Operations Coordinator sought

30 hours per week with possibility of full-time | Temporary position related to maternity leave | Højbjerg, Aarhus | Start as soon as possible

We are looking for an experienced and sharp kitchen and operations coordinator for our catering and food truck company.

The position is a combination of practical kitchen operations, coordination, planning and event preparation . We are not looking for a chef, but a person with experience from restaurant, catering, professional kitchen, food service or other operational operations .

You must be able to think quickly, keep an overview of many things at once, prioritize correctly and see what needs to be done – even when it’s busy and plans change.

If your primary experience is from office/administration without practical experience from kitchen, restaurant, catering, food service or similar operational operations, this is probably not the right position.

About the role

We work with several catering and food truck concepts and run both private and corporate events. Behind each event there is production, procurement, inventory management, packing, coordination and quality assurance.

As a kitchen and operations coordinator you will be a central part of this process and help ensure that daily operations run efficiently and in a structured way.

Your tasks will include among others

  • planning and coordinating preparations for upcoming events
  • preparation and packing for events according to fixed packing lists
  • stock and inventory control
  • receiving and checking deliveries
  • follow-up with suppliers for missing, incorrect or defective items
  • coordination of prep and production in the kitchen
  • light cooking and preparation according to fixed recipes and procedures
  • ensuring structure, order and good flow in the kitchen
  • coordination with colleagues and event teams
  • quality control of goods, food and equipment before events
  • participation in events as needed
  • handling practical and operational challenges that naturally arise in an event-based company

Our menus, recipes, packing lists and central workflows are already developed. The role is therefore not about developing new dishes or systems from scratch, but about understanding them, following them and ensuring that the operation works in practice .

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a person with relevant experience from restaurant, catering, professional kitchen, food service or other operational operations .

You do not have to be a chef, but you should have a good understanding of how a professional kitchen and a busy operation works.

We imagine that you

  • have strong organizational skills
  • quickly can create an overview of many different tasks
  • are used to working in an environment where things move fast
  • can handle multiple tasks simultaneously without losing the overview
  • quickly understand instructions and translate them into action
  • can prioritize when several things are urgent at the same time
  • work independently and take responsibility for your areas
  • function well as part of a team
  • can see what is missing and what the next step should be
  • follow tasks through to completion
  • work in a structured and detail-oriented way without losing the big picture
  • are solution-oriented and good at adapting when plans change
  • thrive with both coordination and practical work
  • are ready to take on kitchen work yourself when needed

You must be able to speak and understand Danish.

Not a chef position

There will be cooking and prep as part of the job, but our production follows fixed recipes, procedures and standards.

Therefore we are not looking for a classic chef , but a person with operational understanding who can learn our concepts and ensure that production, storage, packing and event preparation hang together.

The most important is not culinary education, but operational experience, structure, overview and the ability to get many different tasks to work together .

Working hours

The position is initially 30 hours per week , with the possibility of developing into full-time.

As we are an event-based company, working hours can vary. A large portion of the work takes place on weekdays during daytime, but evening and weekend work may also occur in connection with events.

Therefore some flexibility is required.

Maternity cover temporary position

The position is temporary and created in connection with maternity leave .

There will be an onboarding period at the start, after which you are gradually expected to work more independently and take greater responsibility for the daily operation.

For the right person there may be the possibility of more hours and potentially full-time along the way.

Application

Start: as soon as possible.

Send your CV and a short application to [email protected] .

Please tell us specifically about

  • your experience with restaurant, catering, kitchen operations or operations
  • which types of responsibilities you have previously had
  • how you work in busy situations with many simultaneous tasks
  • when you can start
