About the job

Would you like to become an important adult in students' school life? At Kliplev School we are looking for a teacher who wants to teach, build relationships, and be part of a close and engaged community around our students. Maybe it’s you we are missing on the team?

Kliplev School – a school close to the students

At Kliplev School we are a smaller school with around 140 pupils from grades 0-6, where proximity, community and good relationships are an important part of our everyday life. We know each other across classes and year groups, and we place emphasis on both children and adults feeling that they belong.

We work every day to create a school where the pupils both thrive and develop academically. We believe that good relationships, clear adults and strong collaboration around the students are the foundation for good teaching and learning.

As a teacher at Kliplev School you will become part of a dedicated staff, where we help each other, share ideas and take on tasks together. You will have a daily life close to the students and the opportunity to put your own mark on the teaching and the school’s development.

We are a school where there is not a long way from idea to action, and where we value employees who want to contribute, take responsibility and be part of the community.

About the job

You will become part of our primary and middle school team and will play a central role in the students’ academic and social development.

Your main tasks will be

  • Mathematics teaching in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6
  • English teaching in grade 3
  • Homeroom teacher in grade 4

As a homeroom teacher in grade 4 you will have a special role in relation to the class’s community, well-being and development. You will work closely with the other teachers and pedagogical staff around the students’ everyday life and learning.

In mathematics you will have the opportunity to follow the students’ academic development across several year groups. This provides good opportunities to create coherence in teaching while staying close to the students over time.

Your daily work will be characterized by close collaboration with colleagues, both in relation to the year groups and also in professional collaborations and around the individual pupil. We emphasize that we use each other’s competencies and help each other find good solutions when everyday life demands it.

You will naturally also have the opportunity to put your own imprint on the teaching. We expect you to take responsibility for your tasks, but you will not be alone with them.

Your tasks

Your primary tasks will consist of

  • Plan and conduct inspiring mathematics teaching in 3rd-6th grade
  • Take responsibility for English teaching in 3rd grade
  • Be homeroom teacher in 4th grade and have a close eye on the students’ well-being, development and sense of community
  • Create good relationships with the students and support a safe and positive learning environment
  • Actively participate in team collaboration and the inter-professional collaboration around the students
  • Participate in the school’s joint development and contribute with your own ideas, professionalism and engagement.

We offer

  • A school where you come close to both students, colleagues and the school’s everyday life
  • A workplace with a strong sense of community, where we help each other and lift tasks together
  • Opportunity to put your own mark on the teaching and help develop the school
  • A varied teaching role with both subject responsibility and an important role in the class’s community
  • Good opportunities to closely follow the students’ development and create relationships that make a difference
  • Dedicated colleagues and a school life where there is little distance from idea to action.

We expect that you

  • Have teacher education and strong subject competencies in mathematics
  • Can create clear, varied and engaging teaching where students experience both academic progress and a desire to learn
  • Are relationally strong and meet the students with clarity, presence and respect
  • Want to take responsibility for the class’s community and the students’ well-being as homeroom teacher
  • Can work closely and constructively with colleagues and parents
  • Are engaged, responsible and actively contribute to the school’s community.

It is an advantage if you

  • Have experience with mathematics teaching in the middle years
  • Have experience with the homeroom teacher role
  • Have interest in or experience with teaching English
  • Want to work at a smaller school where people know each other and lift tasks together
  • Are open to trying new ideas and developing your teaching together with colleagues.
