Head Chef for the Department of Food and Nutrition

Do you want to help create healthy and tasty canteen food at North Zealand Hospital?

We are seeking a nutrition assistant, cook, smørrebrødsjomfru, delicatessen employee or another skilled worker for our canteen and meeting catering.

With us you get a daily life with good culinary craft, fresh ingredients and plenty of variation. We make almost everything from scratch and produce daily a large selection of salads, sandwiches, cold dishes and meeting catering for the hospital's staff and guests.

Who are we?

We are the Department of Food and Nutrition at North Zealand Hospital. In our kitchen we have ambitions for the food we serve, and we emphasize taste, quality and an inviting presentation.

We have our own bakery and butcher department and work goal-orientated with ecology, less food waste and reduction of our CO2 footprint.

You will become part of a professionally strong team, where we help each other, have a high tempo when required, and at the same time have room for new ideas.

About the job

Your primary task will be to produce food for our canteen and meeting catering. You will among other things work with:

• Preparation of salads, sandwiches and cold dishes
• Preparation and plating of meeting catering
• Beautiful and inviting presentation of the food
• Planning and production of the day's assortment
• Quality, food safety and hygiene

We also want your ideas to come into play. It could be new salads, exciting sandwiches, seasonal dishes or new ways to use the ingredients.

We are looking for someone who

• Is educated as a nutrition assistant, cook, smørrebrødsjomfru, delicatessen employee or has another relevant food-related education
• Has a sense for taste, quality and presentation
• Preferably has experience from canteen, café, catering or other food production
• Can work in a structured way and maintain an overview when it gets busy
• Is responsible and reliable
• Contributes to good collaboration and work environment
• Wants to develop professionally and contribute with new ideas

In 2027-28 we move into a completely new production kitchen at Nyt Hospital Nordsjælland in Hillerød. Here we will have new frameworks and opportunities to develop our food production, canteen and meeting catering.

The position is 37 hours per week with shifts from 6:00 to 13:24 and is available from 1 November 2026 or by agreement. Application deadline is 18 October 2026.
