In Artelia's bridge department you will become part of a dedicated team of 18 bridge engineers and project managers who work on bridges and civil structures of all sizes and project phases. We solve tasks for both existing structures and new construction and work with a wide range of materials, including concrete, steel, wood, composites and fiberglass.

Our clients span a broad spectrum and include, among others, the Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet), Banedanmark, municipalities, contractors and private developers. This provides a diverse project portfolio where we work with everything from smaller local civil works to larger infrastructure projects and cross-disciplinary construction tasks.

Bridges are an important part of the infrastructure that binds society together. Therefore we collaborate closely with colleagues in areas such as rail, traffic, geotechnics, environment, climate adaptation and construction management to create robust and value-adding solutions for our customers.

The Bridge department is in continued development with a strong project portfolio and exciting opportunities ahead of us. As Head of Competence you will play a central role in developing the discipline for existing bridges and civil works, strengthening the professional quality across projects and contributing to the development of both customers, colleagues and the business. Your profile

We envision you as an experienced bridge engineer who is motivated to develop people, professionalism and solutions within existing bridges and civil works. You have a strong technical foundation, thrive in the role of a professional sparring partner and are able to translate your knowledge into value for both projects and colleagues. At the same time you want to contribute to the continued development of Artelia's discipline area for existing bridges and civil works.

Your primary task will be to develop the discipline across projects. At the same time you will participate in selected projects as a discipline leader, professional sparring partner or project manager. In addition we also see that you:

• Minimum 10 years' experience as a bridge engineer and solid experience as a technical key person
• Documented experience with existing bridges and civil structures, including condition assessment, bearing capacity, renovation, strengthening, conversion or life-extension
• Experience with professional sparring, quality assurance, knowledge sharing and development of colleagues
• Strong competencies in quality assurance and cross-disciplinary coordination
• Experience with cross-disciplinary projects, preferably for the Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet), Banedanmark, municipalities, contractors or other infrastructure owners
• Willingness and ability to take a visible role in developing the field of expertise for existing bridges and civil structures
• A collaborative and solution-focused approach, where you build trust with both colleagues and partners
• Commitment, professional curiosity and desire to help shape the direction for future solutions within existing bridges and civil works.

Your primary tasks

• Set the professional direction for existing bridges and civil works
• Drive competence development, knowledge sharing and professional initiatives across the department
• Be the professional sparring partner and mentor for the department's bridge engineers
• Contribute to quality assurance, auditing and development of methods, tools and workflows.
• Follow the professional development in the industry and ensure that new knowledge is translated into strong solutions and high quality in the projects
• Contribute to bid work and development of Artelia's services for existing bridges and civil works
• Join as discipline leader, sparring partner or project manager on selected assignments with existing bridges and civil works
• Collaborate closely with clients, colleagues and other disciplines to develop the best solutions.
