Consultants for political liaison and secretarial support at the Center for Health

Can you translate health policy and the health reform's intentions into concrete actions? Do you get energy from working at the intersection of political support, strategy and operations — and can you make ends meet in an environment with changing tasks and tight deadlines? We are currently looking for two consultants for our secretariat.

In the Secretariat, we are close to the decisions that shape the health care system. We support politicians and leadership, drive cross-cutting processes and create coherence in complex agendas across the Health Center, the rest of the regional administration and the hospitals. We are, among other things, responsible for servicing health councils and the political committees in the health area and supporting the leadership and units in the center.

As an employee with us you will come close to some of the biggest changes our health care system faces. Ahead of the establishment of Region Østdanmark on 1 January 2027 and the implementation of the health reform, the secretariat plays a central role in creating forward momentum, supporting good decision-making processes and tying the organization together.

In this position you will be a key player in translating the political objectives of the health reform into feasible processes, decision briefs and implementation. You will have a daily life where you are close to the decisions and days will rarely be alike.

Tasks must be solved with high quality – also on days with changing agendas and tight deadlines. You will have a large touchpoint across the organization, and you must therefore thrive on actively collaborating and approaching colleagues in both your own organization and in other parts of the region.

Your tasks will include, among others

• Be part of the political support, coordinate and quality assure cases for the regional council, business committee and health councils and participate in tasks related to the merger into Region Østdanmark.
• Support the management and partners in the center's units in connection with the preparation of decision briefs for the executive management and the politicians in the regional council.
• Help drive and coordinate larger cross-cutting projects and tasks – often with many stakeholders.
• Coordinate and prepare briefs, speeches, slides, meeting materials etc. for the chairman of the regional council, chairmanships, health councils and the executive board.
• Respond to citizen and press inquiries.

As we are seeking two consultants, the task portfolio can be adapted to the different profiles' experience, strengths and interests.

Flair for politics and ambitious on behalf of the task

We are looking for someone who can combine political acumen with strong organizational oversight and the ability to create forward momentum and bring different perspectives into play, so that we together find the best solutions in collaboration.

Therefore we place emphasis on that you

• Have a relevant advanced education, e.g., cand.scient.pol. or cand.scient.san.publ.
• Have experience from a politically led organization – preferably from a region, ministry, municipality or interest organization.
• Have a holistic view and see both the political direction and the operational consequences while you can maintain an overview.
• Seek solutions – and achieve results in close collaboration with colleagues and partners.
• Are good at working in a structured way and preferably have program or project management experience.
• Can write clearly and precisely – regardless of whether the recipient is a citizen, politician or director.

About us and Region Østdanmark

On 1 January 2027, Region Capital and Region Zealand will be merged into Region Østdanmark. You will thus become part of Denmark’s largest region – an organization with about 2.8 million residents and more than 65,000 employees. The merger is also the largest merger of a public workplace in Denmark.

In the new region we will be called Conern Health, Secretariat and Health Policy and will consist of several sections that together lift complex and meaningful tasks in an environment characterized by energy and close collaboration. We work dynamically, help each other across and quickly translate new needs and decisions into action.

As of 1 January we will consist of just over 45 employees, and we have bases in Hillerød and Sorø.

You will become part of the team that works with political and leadership support in Hillerød.

However, you should be prepared for meetings and tasks to occur regularly across the region – even though in everyday life we handle many things via Teams, email and phone.

The appointment is made under the collective agreement for academics employed in regions, etc. Placement as academics with a master's degree, or special or chief consultant, depending on your experience and qualifications. The starting salary may vary depending on your seniority, experience, education and the geographic location of the workplace.
