About the job

Kunsthal Charlottenborg is seeking a maternity leave replacement for our dissemination manager, who can ensure continued creation of meaningful encounters between a broad and diverse audience and contemporary art. We believe that art can open new perspectives, create conversations and give space to both reflection, curiosity and community. Through an active dissemination strategy we want to bring even more people into this encounter.

You will become part of a house in strong development, where dissemination plays an increasingly central role in the overall audience experience. Here, contemporary art meets the public in many different formats – from exhibitions, guided tours and educational programs to talks, events and digital and experimental dissemination approaches.

As a temporary replacement for our dissemination manager, you will play a central role in developing and realising dissemination across the house, including hosting, accessibility and wall texts in close collaboration with the curator. You must be able to translate complex artistic and academic content into formats that are accessible, sensory and relevant, while also having an eye for the fact that different people meet art in different ways. You will help rethink ways in which dissemination is experienced as an integrated part of the exhibitions.

We offer an exciting position in a dynamic international art environment with engaged colleagues, strong artistic collaborations and a great variation in the audience. You will become part of a dedicated team and work closely with curators, the communications department and front-of-house staff to create holistic audience experiences where dissemination is an integrated part. Together we work ambitiously to create an open, relevant and vibrant meeting place for contemporary art in Danish and international context.

Responsibilities

  • Further develop and implement dissemination formats that support a lively, sensory and intuitive encounter between contemporary art and the audience.
  • Adapt dissemination to different target groups – from school classes and students to professionals and a broad Danish and international audience.
  • Prepare dissemination texts, teaching materials and digital initiatives that make complex artistic and theoretical content accessible to the many.
  • Plan and carry out guided tours, introductions and audience encounters in connection with exhibitions.
  • Hold internal workshops for hosts and educators that ensure the high quality of dialogue-based teaching.
  • Actively contribute to the institution's safeguarding and continued development as a forward-looking, welcoming and relevant place for contemporary art in Danish and international context.

Qualifications

  • Documented experience with art dissemination, including text production, guided tours and audience encounters.
  • Strong dissemination skills, both written and oral, in Danish and English.
  • In-depth knowledge of contemporary art and the ability to translate academic content into new formats.
  • Experience working with different audience groups and target groups in new engaging ways.
  • Educational background in art history, visual culture, pedagogy or similar.

Personal competencies

  • Ability to create meaningful encounters between contemporary art and people.
  • Creativity and innovation in dissemination formats and approaches.
  • Initiative and independence combined with strong collaborative skills.
  • Engagement, presence and a desire for dialogue with the public.

Salary and employment terms

The appointment is made in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (academic collective agreement). Placement is based on qualifications and experience. In addition, there is a pension contribution of 18.07% of the contractually agreed salary. Furthermore, based on relevant professional competencies, documented professional results and responsibility, a qualification supplement may be negotiated.

The weekly working hours are 37 hours.

Kunsthal Charlottenborg wishes for the staff composition to reflect the society, and encourages all qualified applicants regardless of age, gender, religion, ethnicity or background to apply.

Application

Send your application, CV and any attachments via the link “Søg stillingen”. The application deadline is Friday 6 November 2026 at 12:00 .

Further information about the position can be obtained by contacting the Kunsthal leader Helene Nyborg Bay at tel. 3374 4630 on Mondays and Thursdays between 13-16. We expect to hold interviews in week 47.

The appointment will be from 1 January 2027 and is, in principle, ten months.
