About the job

Are you curious about technology, creative production and practical learning? Do you enjoy experimenting with new equipment and helping other students translate ideas into practice? Do you want to help develop a completely new lab environment at EK?

So perhaps it’s you we’re looking for!

ABOUT THE JOB

At Erhvervsakademi København (EK) we are establishing a new lab environment in Nansensgade, where students and teachers have the opportunity to work practically and experiment with new technologies and methods.

The lab environment shall support the courses in the house and give the students hands-on experience early in their studies. Here we combine digital technologies with physical production and creative processes.

The new lab will include, among other things, podcast and audio facilities, eye-tracking equipment and the possibility to borrow photo-, video- and audio equipment. The podcast facilities should also be usable for example sales training, conflict management and negotiation exercises. There will also be a print workshop with 3D printers, a T-shirt printer and a poster printer.

As a lab trainee you will be an important part of the daily operation and development of the lab. You will help students and teachers use the facilities, run workshops and contribute to an open and inspiring learning environment.

The lab will be developed continuously in close interaction with the programs and the students. Therefore you will also have the opportunity to contribute your own ideas and help shape how the lab should be used in the future.

Your main tasks

  • Loans and preparation of equipment : Prepare, loan and receive photo-, video- and audio equipment and support the use of the lab's facilities.
  • Guidance and help for students and teachers : Introduce your fellow students to equipment and technologies and help them get started with their projects.
  • Operations and development of the lab : Contribute to ensuring the lab and the studies run smoothly and help develop new workshop formats, activities and events that support the study environment and usage possibilities.

Your other tasks will depend on your interests, competencies and experiences.

Technologies, workshops and facilities

You will work with various facilities and technologies, including

  • Photo, video and audio : Guide in the use of cameras, microphones, lights and other equipment for content production.
  • Podcast and audio studio : Help with setup, recording and use of the studio for both media production and training activities.
  • Eye tracking and user tests : Support the use of eye-tracking equipment and other technologies for analysis and testing of digital and physical prototypes.
  • Print and physical production : Help students with printing tasks, poster production, T-shirt printing and other creative and physical productions.
  • Digital tools and new technologies : Explore and communicate relevant digital tools, for example AI and creative software solutions.

You do not need to have experience with everything, but we are interested in hearing what you can bring to the table. The most important thing is that you are curious, want to learn and enjoy working practically.

Workshops, dissemination and development

You will have the opportunity to

  • Help plan and run introductions, workshops and activities for students.
  • Develop ideas for how the lab's facilities can be used in teaching and study projects.
  • Contribute to communicating the lab's possibilities via the website, Service Portal (our loan system), social media and information screens.
  • Test new technologies and working methods together with colleagues and teachers.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an engaged and approachable student who wants to contribute to an active and inspiring lab environment.

Basic requirements

  • You must be enrolled in a program.
  • You must be able to communicate in Danish, and it is an advantage if you can also communicate in English.

We also expect that you

  • Are curious about technology, creative production and practical work processes.
  • Like working with equipment and getting to know new technologies.
  • Are service-minded and good at helping and guiding others.
  • Work in a structured way and take responsibility for your tasks.
  • Would like to contribute ideas for the development of the lab.
  • Thrive with both independent tasks and collaboration with others.

It is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have experience with for example photography, video, audio, printing, graphic production or digital tools.

WE OFFER

A job where you have the opportunity to bring your competencies and your experience into play and help develop a completely new lab environment in Nansensgade. You will work closely with both full-time staff and other lab trainees. Together we learn from each other, try out new technologies and develop the lab so that it supports the needs of the education programs.

We expect you to work about 10 hours per week, to be determined in consultation with your study schedule. Hiring and pay are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement for student assistants/lab trainees. Your primary workplace will be the new lab in Nansensgade, but you will also have the opportunity to work at other EK locations.
