Kathøj Svallerup School is seeking engaged teachers due to increased student numbers. We are looking for teachers for either the lower and middle grades, and we would love to hear from you regardless of which subject combination you bring.

About the students and our pedagogical approach

Our students are characterized by diagnoses such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders and relational disorders. They often have a range of personal, academic and social difficulties in their background and are affected by previous experiences of setbacks.

About the job

As a teacher with us you will be part of an ambitious school and day-treatment framework. The goal is always to strengthen and elevate the students’ academic level as much as possible – based on the premise that academic learning presupposes secure relationships.

Your tasks will include

• Teaching in small class teams: Structured and differentiated instruction in a close partnership between teacher and pedagogue.
• Support for students with low school attendance: Some of our students have concerning absenteeism or school refusal. We are looking for teachers who have the courage and desire to work patiently and proactively – including meeting the student at home to gradually bridge and rebuild the relationship to the school.
• Close parental collaboration: We have a positive and engaged parent community with whom we collaborate closely regarding the children’s well-being and development.
• Interdisciplinary sparring: Close collaboration with pedagogues, psychologists and internal resource persons.

Your profile

• Professionally grounded and pedagogically curious: You do not necessarily need many years of experience in the special needs field, but you are eager to bring your teaching professionalism into a special education and treatment-oriented framework.
• Meets the student as a whole person: You look beyond the behavior and meet the student with calm, patience and mentalizing capacity.
• Strong in partnership and team collaboration: The collaboration between teacher and pedagogue is the backbone of the school. You thrive in a close cross-disciplinary pairing where you spar openly, take initiative and dare to try new approaches.
• Reflective: You value professional sparring and see supervision as a natural part of your professional development.

Salary and terms of employment

The positions are permanent full-time. Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement including an OBS and all-day school allowance of about 3,000 DKK per month.
