About the job
Are you a skilled lawyer who likes when the law is not just in a book, but actually used?
And are you eager to work somewhere where you both get to delve into complex legal issues and help develop practice?
So you might be our new lawyer in the Center Team in Your Social Entry, Social Services Administration in the City of Copenhagen.
We are seeking an experienced lawyer for a permanent position. We are not looking for one particular specialist. Instead, we are looking for a lawyer with a strong legal method, who can familiarize themselves with new areas and translate law into something usable in practice.
A job with both operations and development
You will as a lawyer with us be close to the practical application of the law. You will both work with concrete legal issues and with developing our practice, workflows and professional standards. Your tasks can include
- legal advice and sparring with case handlers, professional leaders and management
- handling of complex and principled cases
- legal quality assurance of decisions and appeal cases
- interpretation and application of legislation, practice and policy notices
- teaching and communication of law
- development of guidelines, workflows and templates
- public access to documents (sparring with our student, who works on the issues around public access) and other administrative-law issues.
The concrete tasks we allocate according to your competencies and interests, and in connection with the rest of the lawyer team.
You therefore do not need to know everything from day one. The most important is that you know the law. The rest we can learn together.
You come close to practice
We work in an area where law, social work, economy and politically set goals must fit together. Therefore the job is not only about finding the right provision, but also about understanding what it means in practice – and being able to communicate it to others.
After thorough training you will have great autonomy in task solving. You are however never alone. We place high emphasis on professional sparring and actively use each other when a case requires an extra eye.
Who are we?
You will become the eighth lawyer in our legal team that supports the entire adult area. Together with a student and a chief legal consultant, who has the professional leadership of the team, we are 10 in total.
We are diverse both professionally and personally, but common to us is that we care about our craft and want to do things properly. We help each other, discuss the law and challenge each other’s assessments.
And there is room for humor. For although we work with serious issues and have great responsibility, the workday fortunately does not have to feel like a long exam in administrative law.
We are part of the Center Team in Your Social Entry, where we support the authority area in the Social Administration. We have broad contact across the organization and work closely with both case handlers and management.
Who are you?
We imagine that you
- are cand.jur. or cand.soc.jur.
- have some years of experience as a lawyer – preferably from a municipality or another public authority
- have a strong legal method and can familiarize yourself with new areas
- can analyze complex issues and arrive at a clear legal assessment
- can communicate your law so others can use it
- work independently and in a structured way and take responsibility for your tasks
- are eager to be an active part of a professional community.
It is an advantage if you already have knowledge of the social area and the Social Services Act, but it is not a requirement. We believe that a skilled lawyer with a good legal method can learn new areas.
We offer
- a permanent full-time position with the possibility of employment depending on your qualifications
- a position with broad professional breadth and the opportunity to specialize
- possibility to combine legal case handling with development of practice
- great autonomy and a strong professional community
- a workday that can be unpredictable, but never boring
- flexible working conditions, including the possibility of remote work and flexitime.
Salary and terms of employment
The position is a permanent full-time role to be filled on January 1, 2027. Salary and terms of employment are according to the current collective agreement for academics employed in municipalities.
