About the job
Do you want to work with complex contracts, negotiations and legal advice in the intersection between research, public authorities and private companies?
At the University of Copenhagen we are seeking lawyers (cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur. or similar legal education) who will help create the legal framework for research collaborations with Danish and international partners.
About the job
You will be part of Research and IP Law, where we advise researchers and management across the university. A large part of the work consists of negotiating, drafting and quality-assuring agreements that support research projects and collaborations with external partners.
Your tasks will include, among other things
- negotiate and draft collaboration agreements, confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, consortium agreements and other research-related contracts
- advise researchers and management on legal questions related to research collaborations
- contribute to solving legal issues including intellectual property rights, data protection and public regulation
- collaborate with researchers, public authorities, companies, foundations and universities in Denmark and abroad
- translate complex legal issues into clear and usable solutions.
Research and IP Law consists of 22 lawyers and a group of student assistants, and you will be part of a professionally strong environment with sparring and knowledge sharing across experience and specialties.
What do we offer?
With us you get
- a job with great professional variation and independence
- the opportunity to work with complex legal issues in an area that is continuously evolving
- close collaboration with engaged researchers and colleagues with different legal specializations
- good opportunities for professional development
- a workplace with a high degree of flexibility and a focus on collaboration.
Who are you?
We imagine that you
- are cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur.
- have an interest in contracts and negotiations
- thrive in dialogue with many different partners
- can work independently and create progress in your tasks
- communicate clearly and precisely in Danish and English
- are curious about the interplay between law, research and innovation.
It is an advantage if you have experience with contract work, research collaborations, intellectual property rights or data protection, but it is not a requirement.
Employment terms
Start: 1 December 2026 or by agreement.
You will be placed as an attorney trainee (fuldmægtig), senior consultant (specialkonsulent) or chief consultant (chefkonsulent) depending on qualifications and experience under the applicable agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Academics in the State (AC agreement).
