Head of the HR team

Our HR leader for the work environment, after many years in Randers Municipality, has sought new leadership opportunities. Therefore we are looking for a new leader for the HR team, who can help strengthen the HR profile with a focus on work environment and MED.

Personnel and HR

The HR team is part of Personnel and HR, which is a staff unit under the Deputy Municipal Director. In addition to the HR theme, Personnel and HR also consists of the Legal Personnel team as well as Payroll and Personnel.

It is a department with a good social and professional working environment, where wellbeing and collaboration are highly valued. Both social and professional activities are prioritized across the department. You will become part of a competent and well-functioning leadership team of four, where there is trust, security and ample opportunity for sparring.

The job

As leader of HR you will head a team of five HR consultants and associated interns. The leader of the HR team has daily personnel management, sparring in tasks as well as support for wellbeing. Additionally, distribution of tasks within the team and ensuring professional quality in the tasks. Hiring, salaries and competence development occur in collaboration with the HR and Personnel Chief.

As leader of the HR team you will be an indispensable part of the foundation for Randers Municipality to succeed with a good work environment, wellbeing, leadership recruitment and MED cooperation. You will be part of a well-functioning workplace with a positive and helpful culture, where there is focus on quality and professional development.

The HR team leader participates in a number of professional networks. The person is attached to the Main Board as work environment coordinator and is chair for a cross-municipal work environment coordinator network in the municipality. The HR team leader has responsibility for hiring administrative trainees in collaboration with the person responsible for education. The HR team leader is part of a professional network around the work environment in the 6-town collaboration.

Regarding leadership development, the HR leader participates in the cross-municipal collaboration ØLA, which among other things conducts a Diploma in Leadership and pre-leader programs.

Central tasks in the HR team

• To serve the Main Board, Sector-MED, Director and Chief Forum etc.
• To advise managers, MED chairmanships and work environment groups within MED and work environment questions.
• To conduct wellbeing measurements and APV, work environment conference and competence development for managers and shop stewards.
• To administer leadership programs such as Diploma in Leadership, pre-leadership programs and Welcome for new leaders.
• To support leadership recruitment with profile tools and participate in job and career fairs.
• To prepare written decision proposals to the Direction, Main Board, MED committee and Finance Committee with focus on professional and data-based knowledge.
• To develop supporting process material for intranet and meeting forums.
• To be responsible for IT systems and superuser networks within e.g. MED-database as well as recruitment, competence development, and work-related injury systems.
• To respond to written questions from politicians, shop stewards, MED chairmanships, media, etc.

We therefore seek a leader of the HR team who…

With structure, analytical mind and eye for detail can create overview and progress in a varied task portfolio. You derive energy from planning, implementing and following up and keep yourself informed about developments within work environment, MED and recruitment. You have strong relational skills, inspire trust and contribute to a collaborative working environment. You are a strong written and oral communicator, who has an eye for different target groups and the organization7s needs.

You can prioritise, involve and delegate with understanding of both employees' competencies, the quality of tasks and the possibilities within the given deadlines. You create room for dialogue and at the same time have the courage to make decisions when necessary. You have experience with MED and work environment work in a public organization. You want and have the courage for personnel management and to involve employees in HR development within MED and work environment.

You have a relevant educational background e.g. cand.scient.adm., cand.scient.pol., cand.scient.soc., cand.jur., social worker or similar with an academic postgraduate degree.

Terms

Salary is up to negotiation depending on the candidate's qualifications. The starting salary is 53,925 DKK per month excluding pension. Allowances beyond base salary are negotiated with the negotiating organization and are based on the candidate's qualifications.

Hiring procedure

Applications must be received by Randers Municipality no later than Tuesday November 3, 2026.

We hold two rounds of interviews. 1st interview takes place on November 12, 2026 and 2nd interview on November 24, 2026. For candidates who proceed to the 2nd interview, a personality profile will be made. Feedback on the personality profile will take place on November 19, 2026.
