Marjatta seeks a head of the staff functions

Then you may be Marjatta's new head of our cross‑functional support functions.

Marjatta is in an exciting development phase and is seeking a leader who can unite and develop our cross‑functional support functions while also being an active part of the organization's top leadership group. You will have a central role as the link between Marjatta’s management, the cross‑functional support functions and the rest of the organization’s many units.

Marjatta is a remedial education organization that runs school, living and day services for children, young people and adults with developmental disabilities. The work is based on a holistic and special pedagogical approach. Marjatta has an operating agreement with the Region.

We are seeking a leader who can ensure that our support functions work professionally and create value for the organization’s core mission. The leader must create a clear alignment between the organization’s professional and pedagogical core mission and the administrative, financial and organizational frameworks that support it.

About the position

As head of cross‑functional support functions you will be responsible for leading and developing six central support functions:

• Finance
• HR, personnel and secretariat
• Health area
• Education and Development Center
• Contract team
• Buildings and properties

You will become part of Marjatta’s top leadership group and report to Marjatta’s top leader. At the same time, you will play an important role in supporting the leadership group and the foundation board through secretariat support, coordination and follow‑up on decisions.

You do not need to be a specialist in all areas. Instead, you must be able to lead capable managers and professionals, create coherence across functions and ensure that Marjatta’s values, quality and economy go hand in hand.

Your main tasks

You will among other things be responsible for

• Together with the respective managers, lead and develop Marjatta’s cross‑functional support functions and strengthen the interaction with the organization’s other units, so that the leaders have the best framework to take responsibility for operations, quality, development and finances.
• Support the management team with analyses, decision briefs, impact assessments with strategic sparring, and challenge and put new perspectives in play when appropriate.
• Contribute to the development of effective administrative processes and relevant management tools, as well as follow up on decisions and support implementation in the organization.
• Ensure transparency, systematicity and quality in the organization’s financial management.
• Prepare agendas, decision briefs and material for the leadership group and foundation board.
• Ensure competent interaction with municipalities, the region, supervision and other partners.
• Contribute to handling legal and organizational issues.

We are looking for a leader who

• Can create followership across different disciplines and has experience leading staff, service or support functions, as well as experience leading other leaders.
• Understands the importance of visibility, and is a good facilitator who also has a handle on both structure and details.
• Is skilled at building trusting relationships and dialogues with employees, colleagues and leaders at different levels in the organization, and can navigate complex organizations and create an overview.
• Can translate analyses and knowledge into action and decision support, and has well‑developed skills in written case presentation.
• Is clear in communication and can convey complex contexts simply and understandably.
• Has a view for both strategy, development and daily operations and can balance a leadership role with a supportive and service‑oriented approach.
• Understands value‑based leadership and wants to work in an organization with a strong human and social mission.

You are trustworthy and relationship‑oriented, communicate clearly, and thrive in collaboration with many different stakeholders.

You work in a structured and systematic way, while being proactive and able to navigate safely in an organization with many considerations and perspectives. In addition, you have experience with leadership including personnel management, organizational development and governance, and a desire to contribute to the development of a value‑based organization with a strong social purpose.

Salary and employment: Employment and salary placement are according to the regional agreement for academics.

Starting salary for unionized employees: Marjatta, with an operating agreement with Region Zealand, is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told the base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the relevant agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the salary may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
