About the job
Leader of Visitation and Assistive Device Depot - a strategic leadership role with wide reach
Would you like to lead an area that has great significance for citizens' everyday lives and at the same time help shape the development of tomorrow's welfare?
We work every day to secure citizens' legal protection, create cohesive processes and find solutions that contribute to citizens' quality of life, rehabilitation and self-reliance – and you can have the opportunity to lead the work.
Why you should apply for the job
- You will play a central role in the development of the elderly and authority area at a time when new legislative frameworks and new ways of thinking about welfare create exciting opportunities.
- Here you will get a leadership role that is close to operations and allows you to influence the larger decisions. The path to the political level is short – your opportunity to influence is real.
- You will become the head of a well-functioning area with two daily leaders and 40 capable employees who take responsibility and work independently, so you can focus on the strategic development of the area.
- And you will have the opportunity to make a difference for many citizens through the frameworks and decisions you help create.
- It is a job with great influence, many collaboration surfaces and the possibility to leave a clear mark.
- You will become part of an ambitious and helpful leadership team in Health and Rehabilitation, where we spar with each other, develop together and take on tasks collectively.
Your strengths and why they are needed
You build relationships that last. You are curious about other people's perspectives and invest in collaboration before disagreements arise. You reach out, create connections and bring people together around common solutions. You can invite to and insist on collaboration. It comes naturally to you to work across disciplines and organizations, because you know that the best results for citizens are created in collaboration – not in silos.
You create direction in a complex everyday life. When many tasks, considerations and agendas must be balanced, you help others see what is most important. You do not create direction through control, but by formulating clear goals and meaningful frameworks. Therefore others experience you as a leader who makes it easier to succeed.
You get development all the way to the finish line. You are motivated by improving workflows and creating results that can be felt in everyday life. At the same time you know that good ideas only create value when they are translated into practice. You help the organization stay focused, prioritize and complete the initiatives that are started.
You stay calm in the authority role. You thrive navigating the crossroads between legislation, professional assessments, financial frameworks and citizens' wishes. You do not need to have all the answers in advance, but you can contribute to visitation making well-founded decisions. Even when the dilemmas are complex.
You develop people through trust and sparring. You believe that skilled employees and leaders grow when they meet with both support and constructive challenge. Therefore you are present in your leadership and genuinely interested in others' development. You create security while helping people and teams move forward.
You see finance as part of the core task. You are not preoccupied with finance for finance's sake. Instead you are motivated by creating coherence between professional ambitions, citizens' needs and the resources available. You can translate numbers and budgets into priorities that make sense for both employees, leaders and the organization. When visitation shifts to activity-based financial management, this ability is crucial.
Your background
You have experience with leadership in a politically governed organization and can navigate the interplay between professionalism, economy and political goals.
You have likely a background in visitation, holistic care, the training area, authority areas or related municipal functions. But you may come from another starting point and still have the right competences.
The most important is not your basic education. You may have a health-related background, but other backgrounds can also lead to you being ready for the job.
We are well on the way – and you must help us go further
Visitation is the entry to some of the municipality's most important interventions under the elderly, health and social services legislation. Here we meet citizens early in their processes and help ensure they receive the right support at the right time.
In recent years the organization has been significantly developed. Employees work more closely across disciplines, and visitation is organized to support holistic care teams.
We have actively worked with the Elderly Act's approach and are well prepared for what is to come. You will have the opportunity to further develop an organization that is already well on its way. Now you will lead the next step, where visitation decisions have even greater impact on the municipality's economy.
We have deliberately organized ourselves so that employees work broadly across tasks rather than in narrow specializations. We would like to develop the versatility further and strengthen holistic case handling even more.
For many citizens, visitation is the first entry into the municipality. You must help us focus on being responsive and delivering the best possible service to the citizen, while ensuring it is consistent and fair.
The two daily leaders are experienced and ensure strong operations and professional leadership close to the staff. They are well aligned with each other and dedicate time to do so. They now seek a leader who can strengthen external collaboration and meet them with a coaching and trust-based leadership style.
A leadership role with broad reach
As the leader of Visitation and Assistive Device Depot you will exercise leadership at several levels.
You will actively participate in the strategic development of Health and Rehabilitation. And you will build relationships across the organization and with external partners.
Visitation collaborates among other things with Holistic Care, Disability Advisory, the employment area, the region and a number of other stakeholders around citizens' pathways.
Therefore we are seeking a leader who can both invite collaboration and hold on to common solutions when interests and perspectives differ.
You will also be an important player in implementing the Elderly Act and in the continued development of a more holistic approach for citizens.
Your main tasks
You will among other things
- lead through two competent team leaders and support their continued development
- create direction and coherence across visitation's tasks
- ensure high professional quality and lawful decisions
- further develop collaboration with the municipality's other areas of expertise and external partners
- contribute to the implementation of the Elderly Act and other changes in the field
- create frameworks for responsible financial management and support the transition to activity-based economics
- balance operations, development and economy in a changing reality
