About the job
Would you, together with an engaged team, work with children in disadvantaged positions with a focus on creating experiences of success and new opportunities to become part of the children’s community? Are you also experienced with working with sport, play and movement, and do you thrive being outdoors all year round?
If “yes”, perhaps you are the one we’re looking for!
As an educator in Legepatruljen, you gain a special opportunity to combine professionalism, movement and play in a way that makes a difference. You will be part of a small, strong team that delivers a unique contribution for the children in Tårnby Municipality’s kindergartens and provides inspiration to the pedagogical staff in the municipality’s early childhood institutions.
We offer In Legepatruljen you have the chance to have the framework for the pedagogical work that is often missing in daily life as a pedagogue. In Legepatruljen there is ample time for preparation and evaluation; work is carried out with a high staffing level and there is presence without disruptions in the interaction with the children.
In addition we can offer
- a varied everyday life with golden moments and happy, expectant children
- a close and academically strong working community with engaged colleagues
- a working form where there is room for silly ideas, creativity and professional development
- a cozy office with practical access to cargo bikes, a warming cabinet and a well-stocked material store, including various tools, props, costumes, children's bikes, etc.
- a municipality with wonderful green areas e.g. Kalvebod Fælled, Amager Strand, Ugandaskoven, Travbaneparken and Skolebotanisk Have
- cozy lunch breaks in the town hall’s canteen where we meet our other colleagues.
About Legepatruljen Legepatruljen is a cross-cutting offer to all children in Tårnby Municipality’s day-care centers. We create a playful and safe community that gives children—especially children in vulnerable positions—new opportunities to participate and experiences of success that strengthen wellbeing, courage and a sense of belonging.
Our motto is: “It should be fun to be here – but it’s not for fun that we are here.”
In Legepatruljen we carry out play programs with shifting groups of children. All activities take place outdoors, and daily we cycle out into the municipality’s nature areas by cargo bikes—filled with children, equipment, crazy ideas and enthusiasm. Out on the municipality’s green spaces we conduct targeted activities with sport, play and movement as a means to reach our pedagogical goals.
All programs are thoroughly prepared and take as their starting point the method of pedagogical sport .
It can, for example, be our Paw Patrol -play program (click the link and watch a video clip from Kosmopol), where the children solve “missions” together through running, cooperation exercises and role play. Here children get the opportunity to succeed in the community – and we also show staff how movement can be used pedagogically in everyday life.
We work with different themes in our programs, e.g. Pippi, Superheroes, Flower Fairies and Knights. In addition, we also carry out transitional projects for upcoming school children, cycling programs for older age groups, playground days, inspiration courses and much more.
