We are looking for an educator who is passionate about the special needs area, anchored in their professionalism, daring to think outside the box and who wants to have real and direct influence on our daily life and on the development of our practice.

The position is 37 hours and available as soon as possible.

Who are we?

We are a special class at a mainstream public school, with children from kindergarten through 6th grade. We are a workplace where there is a short path from thought to action and where we place a high value on freedom under responsibility.

We do not hide that the special area can be demanding, with an ever-changing daily life, where the pace is often high, but with us you are never alone. We prioritize solid professional sparring, a close partnership and a work environment where there is room for laughter and good ideas.

The everyday life with us

With us we work with children with and without diagnoses. What unites them all is that they need an extra clear structure, predictability and special pedagogical support in order to thrive and develop. Your daily life will alternate between:

• Creating fixed, safe frames and recognizable routines for the group of children.
• Supporting and developing social skills and well-being in the teaching environment, breaks and SFO time.
• Being at the forefront of pedagogical activities. This both indoors and outdoors. In the gym, music or craft room, in the swimming pool or when we are on trips with or without our minibus. Or whatever you are passionate about.
• Mediation in conflicts and keeping an eye on preventive pedagogical work so that these do not arise.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with teacher, management, parents, PPR, knowledge center and other relevant partners.
• Translating your own pedagogical ideas into practice. If you have a good idea for pedagogical activities, layout or similar, there is room to experiment and support to try it out.
• Two fixed weekly meetings. One in the pedagogical group and one in your class team

We imagine that you are

• A trained pedagogue – preferably with experience from or a burning heart for the special area
• Grounded in yourself, emanates calm and can function as a safe anchor for children who may need clear adults
• Thrives with freedom under responsibility, dares to take initiative and approaches with curiosity.
• Good at creating trusting relationships – both with the children, the parents and your colleagues
• Sees resources behind challenges and can meet the children with acknowledgment, patience, understanding and a smile.
