About the job

Apply for the position of management consultant in KU IT and help support IT decisions at Denmark's largest university (maternity leave position 1 year)

Do you have strong generalist competencies, a well-developed collaborative ethos and a talent for bringing structure to tasks? Do you have a couple of years of professional experience, or are you newly graduated. And are you excited by the thought of working in a large organization in rapid development? Then we have a maternity leave vacancy for you as a management consultant in the University of Copenhagen's IT department - KU IT.

You will have about 350 skilled IT colleagues, eight of whom are in the Administration and Governance section, of which you will be a part. You will work in a professional environment where cross-cutting collaboration, sparring and development are highly valued.

This is what your new workday looks like You will become part of the management consultant team in Administration and Governance, which among other things is responsible for secretary support to KU IT’s management and collaboration fora, for supporting decision-making in the IT area with analyses and case proposals, and for contributing to the development of KU IT as an organization. You will work closely with management and staff in KU IT and with colleagues across KU.

Your tasks will be wide-ranging and will include, among others

  • write draft papers, agendas and minutes for KU IT’s cooperation committee and work environment committee, which provide a good framework for discussions on personnel matters and the work environment in an IT department in rapid development.
  • assist the deputy director and management in KU IT with implementing and systematically following up on HR processes including employee development and workplace assessment in collaboration with colleagues from KU’s HR department.
  • prepare decision proposals and notes for the management and follow up on decisions.
  • create an overview of complex interrelationships and communicate them in a simple way.
  • participate in analytical work as a basis for strategic management decisions.

Who are you? You have completed a long higher education. You can advantageously have a couple of years of experience with management support from a similar position, e.g. in an agency or a municipality. You can also be newly graduated with experience from a study-relevant job. You do not need to be an IT or technical expert. The important thing for us is that you are curious and value sparring with colleagues, and that you, like us, can see that IT and digitization are important drivers in the development of organizations.

Ideally you have several of these traits and competencies

  • You are good at collaborating and strong in your communication both verbally and in writing
  • You have analytical abilities, a sense of structure and process competences
  • You take ownership of your tasks and can create an overview.

Start date: December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
