About the job

Museum Skanderborg has undergone an ambitious remodeling and development project and now opens Perron1, the museum's new main department, at Skanderborg Station. We are therefore seeking an engaged employee who can further develop the concept and take charge of the daily operation of the new café, shop and waiting area.

You must both have an eye for Perron1’s unique placement as a museum at a railway station and at the same time have a professional guest understanding, so that the many different guests will be met with a new strong quality-conscious café- and shop-concept in an inviting museum.

This requires a good understanding of both daily operations and cultural atmosphere to build professional hospitality across your team, which can work together with the overall Museum Skanderborg.

The right person will have the opportunity to make their mark on the position and further develop the concept, but we are looking for someone who can take responsibility for:

  • Daily management and operations: prepare and plate coffee, beverages, sandwiches and cakes.
  • Create well-being and safe frameworks for the café's staff.
  • Finance.
  • Maintain overview with rosters, ordering/receiving, inventory management and follow up on turnover and consumption.
  • Ensure quality, hygiene and presentation.
  • Can make all types of guests feel welcome and understands how to ensure a high professional hospitality across the team.
  • Can collaborate and provide direction for a team.

Additionally

  • Develop event concepts and host events in the house in both the Waiting Hall, the View, the Reading Lounge and the Workshop and be innovative in approach to different target groups: museum guests, meeting and business guests, volunteers, annual pass holders, VIP events, etc.
  • Develop café- and shop products and services that can support the museum's identity and storytelling.

We expect that you

  • Have experience from the café, restaurant or service industry and experience with personnel management and purchasing.
  • Are responsible, structured and have attention to detail.
  • Can work both independently and with others.
  • Outgoing, inclusive and eager to create good guest experiences
  • Are flexible with regard to working hours.
  • Preferably experience with POS system

We provide training in the museum-specific hospitality and experiential quality that we want our guests to have.

  • Salary and employment according to the applicable collective agreement.
  • Application deadline no later than October 21, 2026.
  • Expected start date: as soon as possible.
  • Full-time – evening/weekend work to be expected.

You can contact the Financial Manager Annette Degnbol Pedersen if you have questions regarding the position, email [email protected] , mobile 2620 1176.

We review incoming applications continuously and aim to fill the position as soon as possible. So send your application today.
