About the job

There is a shortage of staff across the welfare sector, and therefore more people must be trained. Before they can start training in caregiving, there may be a need to improve Danish, gain more knowledge about the Danish labour market, workplace culture, etc. These competencies can be obtained in what we call a pre-course, and that is precisely your task as a market consultant: to enter into agreements about such courses with our municipalities, region, and employment efforts.

We are looking for a market consultant for the following tasks

Our new market consultant shall focus on the development of pre-courses primarily within the health-related field, but it can also be within other subject areas.

The purpose of the pre-courses is for each participant to be assessed and upskilled for either ordinary education or unskilled employment. In the courses, participants are introduced to the industry sector, and they often also receive Danish language instruction. The target group for pre-courses is unemployed people and others who are not in employment.

Our new market consultant shall cooperate with the municipalities’ integration departments and employment efforts, with state agencies, and with SOSU East Jutland’s education counselors. As the market consultant for the pre-course area, you will be the one who enters into agreements with the municipalities and with the employment sector about which concrete courses should be developed and launched in SOSU East Jutland’s coverage area.

You will be the one who has contact with key persons at our partner municipalities, professional organizations, job centers and integration departments. You will be the one who, in close dialogue with the department’s other market consultants, instructors and the head of the continuing education area, prepares proposals and cooperation agreements with relevant partners. You are proactive, good at establishing new relationships, persistent and can have many initiatives running at the same time.

It is a requirement that you have knowledge of and experience with the rules and possibilities within upskilling of unemployed and others who are not in employment, and you thus have knowledge of the rules and framework for pre-courses in relation to employment efforts, AMU legislation, IGU rules, etc.

We emphasize that you have experience as either an instructor or a consultant in the field of continuing education and lifelong learning in general, so you know and understand how work is carried out in this area. It would be advantageous if you have a health-related or pedagogical background, so you have insight into which competencies are in demand by municipalities.

We also place emphasis on your knowledge of the target groups our courses and trainings address and that you are familiar with the special offers available for target groups who may not have the necessary Danish language skills and perhaps also not the professional and cultural prerequisites to complete an AMU-education on ordinary terms.

We expect that you

  • Are outgoing and good at creating and developing relationships.
  • Find motivation in being actively proactive and developing dialogue with partners and clients.
  • Like to work with competence development both for a broad range of adults with different backgrounds and in depth with specialization within particular professional areas.
  • Are development-oriented and a team player who shares your knowledge and takes pleasure in others’ success.
  • Have a relevant higher education at diploma, master's or candidate level and formal competences that match the tasks.
  • Have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.

SOSU East Jutland is development-oriented and offers a strong professional pedagogical environment where new ideas are welcomed.

You will receive a thorough introduction to the job as a market consultant, and you will work closely with other market consultants, instructors, course coordinators and management. We have modern teaching facilities, good IT facilities, and we are happy to communicate and share digitally.

Start date is December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The primary workplace will be at the school’s address in Aarhus, but you should expect to work at all of the school’s departments. The average working time is 32 hours per week. There will primarily be day-time tasks, but work in the evenings and on certain weekends may occur.

Applications with attachments (CV, educational certificates and documentation of relevant experience) must reach the school no later than October 20, 2026 at 12:00.

Selection interviews will be held on October 23, 2026, at SOSU East Jutland, Hedeager 1, Aarhus N.

Only electronic applications are accepted. Follow the link on the school’s website www.sosuoj.dk under vacant positions.

The position is compensated according to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant professional organization. Circular on the organizational agreement of December 2, 2019 for heads and teachers at institutions offering vocational education that provides the basic social and health education (including SOSU schools).

Further information about the positions can be obtained by contacting the head of continuing education and development Hanne Mentz Nedergaard, tel. 25 15 62 03.
