About the job
Can you turn stories into experiences that make children and young people listen, play and get swept away – at the library, in day care centers and at schools? Are you excited to be active, and does it come natural to put yourself into play? Then read on.
About the job and the tasks
At Hedensted Libraries we are in full swing to create a vibrant library and culture house, where children and young people do not just pass by, but want to stay. We are building on strong collaborations with the municipality's schools and day care centers and are simultaneously working on creating new communities with the young people.
Now we need you who can help us with all of this while our good colleague is on maternity leave. You will join Team Children and Families and will work across the target groups we focus on in the team.
The library's activities are in demand, and you will enter both day care centers and schools with outreach – from book wagon courses to book talks and all that makes books and stories move out of the pages and into the children's reality.
Additionally, we dream that the library becomes a place the young people feel ownership over. We therefore focus on the youth through our project Kulturpilots, where we help young people develop and realize events, experiences and activities for other children and young people. You will also become part of this.
You will also be part of library shifts, run evening events, and take part in Friday and Saturday shifts about once every six weeks.
Our expectations of you
We hope that you
- Love meeting people and get something special out of facilitating, engaging, and creating enthusiasm.
- Thrive with variety and find it more fun with a patchwork of tasks than with a rigid job description.
- Can improvise and find a good path forward when reality disrupts the plan.
- Can take responsibility for a task, think independently and have the courage to see it through – with your coordinator and colleagues in the background.
- Have good audience knowledge and can adapt your communication to those you face.
- Can figure things out yourself and say when you need help.
- Take responsibility for your tasks and the atmosphere around them.
Your education does not have to fit into one specific box. You could be a pedagogue, teacher, children’s librarian or something completely different. However, your CV should show that you have experience with children and/or young people.
Why you should choose us
The libraries in Hedensted are in the middle of an exciting development. We are revising our strategy, working towards a new Culture House in Hedensted town and at the same time strengthening our offerings across the municipality.
- You will have the opportunity to quickly take responsibility, put your professional mark on things and help turn ideas into reality.
- You will become part of a work community with room for curiosity, development and new ideas.
- We prioritize professional sparring, collaboration and good opportunities to develop your skills and your network.
In short: You get the opportunity to both make a difference today and help create tomorrow's library and culture house.
