Maternity leave substitute at Virklund School as of December 1

We are seeking, as of December 1, 2026, a maternity leave substitute who, with a general and special educational approach, creates a safe and playful learning environment.

We are looking for a maternity-leave substitute who wishes to join an experienced and development-oriented staff group at a growing school. The position is event-based from December 1 with a one-week overlap. The temporary position lasts for the rest of the school year – and extends into the next school year with an unknown end date.

The temporary position includes the subjects

• Danish, kri, n/t in 1st grade with connection to Team 1
• Physical education for middle and upper grades

We are a well-functioning school with good well-being and an ideal location in relation to forests, lakes and Silkeborg's cultural offerings. An active parent association supports the school, which also has good collaboration with local community associations and institutions.

We often use the good surroundings in nature as learning spaces – outdoor school. We prioritise a varied school day and subject days every Friday. We have worked with creativity, community and formation, and this focus will continue in the coming school year. We are in our 5th year as an MOT-school.

Virklund School is a growing school. We are two/three-track with around 550 pupils and look in the coming years to become a three-track school from grades 0-9.

We need

A professionally skilled, collaborative and curious teacher who masters clear and well-considered classroom management.

You are didactically well-founded and, together with colleagues and management, interested in further developing good teaching with a general-pedagogical and special-pedagogical approach. We work with a culture where staff are able to reflect on and relate to their own and colleagues' practice and dare to contribute to the cross-professional collaboration between pedagogues and teachers.

We need you to have a natural desire to work with the youngest pupils in the early years and the middle grades, where you, with relationship skills in play, are a clear adult for the students. Furthermore, we highly value that you can be a good sparring partner for both parents, colleagues and management. We expect that you as a teacher place the student at the center of your work. You must also be passionate about teaching in creative and exciting ways, so that together we create the best day for the students at Virklund School.
