Maternity Leave Vacancy: Duty Officer for Traffic Information at Banedanmark's Operations Center

The Joint Traffic Information at Banedanmark is seeking a duty officer for a maternity-leave cover.

One of our skilled duty officers will soon go on maternity leave. Therefore we need a duty Traffic Information Leader for Banedanmark's Operations Center in Trafiktårn East in Copenhagen, who wants to become part of our team. The fixed-term appointment runs from December 1, 2026 to November 30, 2027.

You will become part of a team of dedicated colleagues who, in close cooperation with the railway companies, coordinate traffic information for train passengers, both when trains are on time and especially when irregularities occur. You will have colleagues from both Banedanmark and DSB, as you become part of a joint traffic information unit, with employment at Banedanmark.

Overview and prepared from A-Z

As the duty traffic information leader, your daily task will be to ensure the coordination of information between staff in our two traffic towers, your colleagues in DSB’s Operations Center, and the other operators’ teams.

You are also responsible for coordination with partners within other public transport, transport authorities and Rejseplanen. You will participate in project groups and work on improvement initiatives so we are further prepared to handle traffic information in all situations. Your daily life and tasks depend heavily on the traffic situation. You should therefore thrive with some days being unpredictable and busy, so you must have the ability to maintain a calm overview when tasks intensify.

Executes and ensures that the teams work together

It will be of great benefit if you have experience with leadership in a role without personnel responsibility and coordination from functions where many actors are involved and quick decisions must be made. You may have experience from an operations center, a control center or within customer service, communication or similar.

You will become part of a team that works around the clock all year round, and you must therefore be able to cope with varying work hours.

You do not need to know everything about trains and traffic information in advance, but in everything you do, you must have the ability to foresee how the traffic information you help deliver will improve passengers' travel experience. This applies whether you are addressing the frequent commuter or the passenger who travels by train only occasionally. It is vital that you have the capacity to stay calm under pressure and that you are responsible.

You have an exceptionally good structure in your work, the ability to prioritise and a cool overview. In addition, you are motivated and want to plan, develop and train when the traffic goes as planned, and we prepare to make it even better in case of disruptions. Last but not least you are a standout team player, team-oriented and positive.

Your new workplace

It will be with a fixed place of work at Trafiktårn East at Kalvebod Brygge – centrally located in Copenhagen and close to public transport.

Salary

You will be employed under the applicable Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organization – The Public Sector (OAO-S Joint Agreement) and the organizational agreement for office clerks, laboratory staff and IT employees.

The position is ordinarily placed in pay grade 3.3, Capital City, according to the applicable agreement, which you can find here and the Employee and Competence Agency’s salary overview, which you can find here .

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is the possibility of negotiating an allowance. The total salary will include an employer-funded pension scheme of 16 %.
