Mathematics teacher for 7th grade at Højdevangens School

Welcome to Højdevangens Skole – one of Denmark's few pure lower secondary schools with only 7th, 8th and 9th grade. It gives a very special culture, a strong youth environment and a high academic tempo. We are seeking a teacher who can teach mathematics to our 7th grade in a permanent position. You will be part of a strong team of teachers and pedagogues who work closely on both students' well-being and academic progression.

In the school year 26/27 and for several years ahead there will be two subject professionals in all Danish and mathematics lessons, so you should be willing to work closely with others, be curious about your own and shared practice and dare open your classroom to colleagues.

Perhaps you are an experienced teacher who wants to try out work life at a lower secondary school, or you are newly qualified. The most important is the desire for lower secondary life.

About us

Højdevangens Skole is part of the four-school collaboration on Midtamager, where pupils go from 0-6 at Dyvekeskolen, Sundbyøster Skole or Gerbrandskolen and continue in 7th grade at Højdevangens Skole. We are expanded to ten streams from 7-9th grade, and in the coming school year we have 23 general classes, three reception classes and a separate boomerang offer for students with various academic and social challenges.

Because we bring together students from several schools on Amager, our lower secondary is a living mix of cultures, personalities and learning styles. It provides a dynamic, inspiring and sometimes unpredictable daily life, but also a strong academic environment and a close, collegial collaboration where we lift together.

We believe that when we aim to move young people forward, we must be able to work within the municipal framework, but we must also dare to think creatively and differently. This means, for example, that we have a large student talent program, that we prioritize chess, school football, Green Council and other cross-class and cross-year activities, as well as that we as staff are occasionally engaged in unusual reflective and philosophical conversations.

We are physically located close to the metro and buses, and here there is an opportunity for free parking.

Employment terms

The position is a permanent full-time. We wish you can start as soon as possible and no later than 1 December 2026. Salary and employment terms according to the current collective agreement and within the framework of local salary formation. In connection with the employment we obtain a criminal and child records and take references.
